Two on spin and lots of goals...views changing?

So, with two wins in a  row and six goals do people still feel that a change must be made or are we starting to feel that the Adams, Holt and Pheelan combo could work?

For me I am still firmly on the fence, during the last month i have understood the calls for a change but whenever I think we should I struggle to arrive at a serious name to bring in. In light of the recent uplift I am inclined to say that we stick with what we have and give them time to make it work even if that means seeing out a couple of rough periods.

Have to take each game as it comes I think. But two wins, one apparently lucky and the other total domination, second half at least but both clean sheets is certainly encouraging and that is two Sundays in a row that I wake up feeling good.

People said before the game that NA should change it and be more attacking. Well he didn't change until half time so maybe those people have a point. But on the other hand, the solid formation may have built the foundation and softened Huddersfield enough.

We obviously aren't the finished product and I doubt our odds have altered much as the top clubs apart from Derby all got something. But the topsy turvyness of this division means a good December and who knows.

I haven't changed my view, I still think Adams has the makings of a good manager and want to see where we are come Christmas. It was always too premature to be talking about us being out of the promotion race after a bad bit of form.

Too early for me to flip flop back. Still don't think he's the man for the job. Good today though, there can be no argument with that.

Good to see the HR department hasn't lost its enthusiasm for the most tedious and long-running sideshow ever.

Really pleased about the last two results of course, but as for my views changing? Well, no, not in the slightest, I made my mind up some weeks ago that Neil Adams is not the man for us and even if we end up getting promoted I doubt I will change my mind.

Thinking like this is certainly not typical of me, as I have always been of the view that you must give a manager a chance plus our club needs stability. For me the last two results have been as a result of a pinch from Neil Adams and a large portion from Mike Phelan. Now, I know my views will upset some, but I have never been so convinced that we could do so much better, I thought it when he was appointed caretaker, again when he got the job permanently and feel it even stronger after the dismal under performances of what is a very strong squad.

He is learning his job, at our expense , but none of us know how good he may become so I would suggest keeping a more open mind.

The growing pains this season have been painful - and it is inevitably going to take a lot more twists and turns, I feel.   Two wins on the trot is good, but there is still too much learning on the job going on when what we should be seeing imo is confident experienced  management.   What has become clear is that anyone can beat anyone, from top to bottom of the league and what will give a team the edge over others is consistency - and Middlsbro look to be the most consistent performers atm.   We are so far from being consistent - even through the course of one match - even today - that it could go either way.   We have been amatuerish at times this season and consistency - which is what got us up last time - has been almost completely missing, due entirely imo to having a rookie manager.

Will Neil learn enough, quick enough?  I hope so.

I never really wanted him out, although a bad result today could well have changed that.

It's hard to say but regardless I think he's deservedly bought himself more time.

However, one of the most strangest posts above... "If he gets us promoted I still won't think he's the right man for the job".

I'm not being funny but if he does get us promoted then factually and statistically he was the right man for the job because this season's aim was promotion and he will have delivered it.

Absolutely bizarre view which maybe demonstrates how hard Neil has it against some of our fans.

Strange line up but we got away with it. Do I think Adams is capable of taking us to promotion, no, but at least Phelan appears to be having some impact, But, in response to one of the posts above, if Adams takes us to automatic promotion then he would have proved to be the correct choice.

We have the same number of points as Lambert had at this stage, exactly the same W/D/L record, and a better goal difference. It wasn't until the second half of the season that Lambert's team hit its stride.

I can only be a wait and see;  some encouraging signs but far too soon to know for sure with some persisting old concerns hanging around..

One the positive we have won the last two games without conceding and scoring 6,  showing great grit and determination and cuellar is looking strong at cb.  we seem to have competition for strikers even if they all continue to spurn opportunities that Ricky could only have dreamed of last season.

on the negative neither side are powerhouses,  we only scraped a narrow win against an extremely poor and out of form wigan side and the sending off swung events forever in our favour today.   Todays win came from the introduction of redmond,   during the first half  both against 10 and 11 men we remained highly industrious but without a cutting edge - quite like last week - and reduced to highly speculative shots from 35 yards.

The confidence from two good wins will be exponentially magnified with any result next week;  we have pushed ourselves back into the position of having a chance and need to build on that;    the foundations remain shaky but can quickly become a promotion winning run.

Maybe  - but one was a team on a  shoestring budget and going up and the other a relegated squad with some of the biggest resources in the league.

This is a weak and eminently escape-able league with all teams beating each other (some one said its the lowest 20 game points total for the leader of a 24 team championship ever) - we are ideally poised having (hopefully) got rid of our poor run so we have to take this chance to win promotion;  as with liverpool and winning the prem title last season, we are unlikely to have the stars so well aligned again.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who has been benchmarking against that season. :)

I have a feeling this might be the point where Lambert's ghost races away from us, that side only lost twice from this point onwards, tough ask for Adams and co to match that.

Yes, but nine of those that weren't losses were draws. Two points dropped each time.

I'm not talking about points though - I'm talking about consistency of performance, as when I mentioned the difference between halves.  The momentum built through the season in 2010, but it was based on a consistent effort - and nothing like the ups and downs we've had this season.

"If he gets us promoted I still won't think he's the right man for the job".

Let me explain my reason behind this statement from my "strange post", not sure why it is strange?

It's very simple, my belief is "if" we do end up getting promoted at the end of this season, the prime reason will because of the impact of Mike Phelan and very little to do with Neil Adams.....as I believe we have already seen in the last two matches.

Consequently, based on my current view, he is not the right man for the job or ever will be, and certainly not the right man to lead us in to the EPL and keep us in it.

Now, I may have to eat humble pie on this one and will be happy to do so,as I am a fan of not keep flicking your manager and our club does need some continuity.

As for comparisons to the Paul Lambert season.......its is certainly interesting, but what PL had to work with simply doesnt compare to the riches Neil Adams has at his disposal, no comparison.

When the subject was previously discussed on here, and the question was asked as to what would change your mind, my answer was "4 or 5 wins". And that remains.
