Vadis signs

Thoughts?

Hopefully, he'll be an asset. I can't say I've ever seen him play and YouTube highlights aren't sufficient evidence for anything. We all like a fancy name though, right?

Thank Christ for that! Welcome aboard, Vadis. Hope he's as good as his name! :D

Very excited by this. There's a very real prospect that this guy is better than Fer.

Great signing! Sounds like a few bad injuries has held him back the last few years but hopefully he can live up to his potential at Norwich. Really excited about signing Vadis.

I'm also excited and can't wait to see him play. It's been a very good week so far, but it'd be nice to add another defender as well.

He has Lukaku's seal of approval.

Very excited about this signing, seen glimpses of him but not enough to warrant a concrete opinion.

I think he can challenge all midfielder positions and it seems as though he may be a challenger to Wes, Adams described him as a very attack minded midfielder, so that says to me he can play in a more advanced role.

We certainly need another one who can operate in that position. But I suppose Howson could do a job there, too.

Absolutely. Sometimes i forget that Howson is even here, what a midfield we'll have.

Happy days when you are signing 25 year old Belgian internationals in the Championship.

Can we just pause a moment and consider how things have gone so far? Many on here were writing off Adams as a 'rookie manager' who would put City at a considerable disadvantage this season. Has he? Six players going out, seven coming in, and Adams has, IMO, potentially (always a dangerous word) kept his promise of replacing those leaving with better players.

Elmander - Jerome
Yobo -Cuellar
Snodgrass - Lafferty
RvW - Grabban
Fer - Odjidja
Pilks - Josh Murphy (Surman)
McGrandles -
O'Neil -

Add to that E. Bennett returning to the squad (like Surman, so far) and young guns like Gafaiti, Mcfadden, Jacob Murphy, and Jamar Loza and IMO, we have a very strong squad in spite of relegation. Oh, and a current run of four straight wins. Time for a bit of credit for our 'rookie manager'?

He has so far exceeded the expectations of many/most, today's transfer well and truly pours cold water on suggestions that he wouldn't be able to attract good / big name players to the club.

Noticed a couple of Club Bruige( please excuse my spelling) fans stating how they were glad to see the back of him, just turned up in games when he seemed willing. Now it could be sour grapes or a couple of binners

I liked this post by BarclayBoy on the transfer thread:

"I asked for a little education from a fan on Facebook this is what he said, very promising :

"He is a strong midfielder who has been regarded as one of the best players in the Belgian League. His passing is excellent, he has the strength and he has an acceleration. Although his lack of scoring, he can be very important to your team because he directs the play. He is able to speed things up. I believe he is more worth then what Norwich paid for him, so he is a good transfer. You can compare him to Dembele or Wilshere."

Very astute and educated signing it seems."

Hope all of that comes through, as the recommendations from Kompany and Lukaku also suggest.

Anyone know the exact transfer fee? Mainly heard that it's £4m but most places say undisclosed.

Really looking forward to seeing him play, don't know anything about him really but from what I've heard he sounds like a great player. Our central midfield now is ridiculously strong, I would be happy with Howson, Vadis, Tettey and Johnson as our options if we were in the Prem.

Elmander - Jerome
Yobo -Cuellar
Snodgrass - Lafferty
RvW - Grabban
Fer - Odjidja
Pilks - Josh Murphy (Surman)
McGrandles -

When you consider as well that we've made a profit on those transfers it shows what great business we've done. I wouldn't say any of those are a massive downgrade on the player they replaced either, obviously Lafferty isn't as good as Snodgrass, and we haven't seen Vadis play yet so not sure where he stands in comparison to Fer, but apart from that none of the replacements for the players we have sold are step downs. And we've actually improved in some positions such as Grabban and Jerome in for RvW and Elmander.
