Villa, Newcastle, Palace etc

Why is it when City play a side who can't even win an argument they always seem to beat us with ease? Yes, I know we've just beat Newcastle but at their place they put 6 past us!

Ditto now with Sunderland who really are bad but you just know what's going to happen don't you?

Please convince me I'm wrong. :blush:

If you're talking about Palace they didn't beat us with ease.  It was an even game between two sides that looked pretty poor decided by them having one decent moment and the ref not giving a clear penalty to us.

The fact is we're down at the bottom of the Prem so when we play teams around us, they tend to be even games which turn on a small number of incidents and people remember the ones that go against us.  E.g. people don't mention that we comfortably beat Villa at home but only remember the away game when we were poor but it was still really down to a goal from a set piece.

I'm certainly nervous about Saturday but at home I think we're fully capable of beating them.

Well you did us :lol: Seriously Sunderand are Naff and the pressure building on them. I've said it for months you'll be ok you only need one win  34pts will be enough

I think all City fans are going to be nervous before Saturday's game though... it would be a bit strange if you weren't.

You'll do them have faith It's lump it to Defoe all the time and he's missing. If we had any kind of attack we would have won that one. Key to this one just be calmer than they are and you do all three. Games are running out. 7pts is big gap at this stage

This is really important game for us as it is our last "easy game". Watford is winnable and we can surprise Everton and ManU, but Arsenal probably rip new one for us at their home now that they are out of champion race.

Sunderland has similar hard fixture list for the rest of season, only Watford being easier game and few odd points possible. So with 7 point lead I think it would be too much for them. I think we could keep them behind with draw too, but if we lose to them that would in my eyes mean relegation. They have played so many draws lately that they can pull few more and we are behind in goal difference by one goal. Ofc goal difference can change and as said we can pull few surprises against top table team and win Watford, but we haven't been that good when the pressure has been on our players.

But I am more concerned about Newcastle, they have AV, CP and Swansea left and if we lose and they win in next round, they would be only 3 points away and they should get quite easily 4 points from CP and AV who are both probably either safe or down at point where they face eachother.

As said we all are nervous (at least those who really support Norwich, what a thriller this end season has been), but everything is in our own hands. Get point or three from Sunderland and 2-3 points more from rest of games and we are surely staying up. Famous last words.

Famous last words... but I think you're right.

I think Sunderland and Newcastle are different in that Sunderland have a poor squad but their manager has got some organization into them.  Newcastle hve some real quality players but are a shambles, organizationally.  The upshot is that they're both poor.  I really hope we can send them both down but I'm getting really nervous about Saturday now.

As for Newcastle playing Villa - my guess is that Villa will be formally relegated by then, and it's not unusual for a relegated team to start playing with freedom and improving - the pressure has gone and the players are playing for their personal careers.  So I can easily see Villa beating Newcastle in that one.
