I don't think there is any spin, bluff or bluster in what he says, all I see is absolute honesty about our situation. I think he is doing about as good a job as anyone could do, and I love his complete lack of bullshit. There is a fans forum in a few weeks with him and Steve Stone, that I'm looking forward to!

I'm not particularly a fan of his, but this was certainly open and honest and all credit to him for that. BUT, personally I need to hear a specific target for the season rather than a fluffy answer like he gave, as that feels like expectations are not that high, when our club and fans should be expecting a strong challenge for the play-offs at the very least!

He actually discussed that in the interview. Would you rather hear a pithy " promotion, promotion, promotion" type statement? Im fine with " quietly hopeful" but the same as Webber, I recognise the size of the task ahead, and there are a lot of unknowns.

Like Rocky and Wolfswinkel I still have no idea whether he's a class act or he got lucky at Huddersfield and is out of his depth.

Although being in West Yorkshire I meet the occasional Huddersfield fan and they all seem to think he's a genius!

We adored Lambert and thought he should be knighted for services to football though, doesn't mean Villa fans do.

You aim high, you want the best, but there are no guarantees that it is going to work out, none whatsoever. You can hardly expect him to say "You know what, we're pretty potless, and I reckon we're good for 10th at best" can you?

Well the regime will be judged on results regardless, but 10th would qualify as progress and he did say that he accepts the fans want to see progress.

Although I'd personally just like to see more consistency and less humiliations this season (not just thrashings, but also finishing beneath Ipswich!),felt like we regressed a bit towards the end of the season. Proof will be in the pudding as they say.

Anybody literally expecting top 6 considering the amount of money being thrown around by some of the sides in this league aren't worth listening to.

I find him likeable but still not wholly convincing, that's just how I feel.

To be fair I do like him, it's make or break for him this season a bit though. If we don't make any progress he can't have any excuses, like we're still in transition etc, and to be fair I think he knows that. I agree as well with what he said about the fans giving the team a bit of time though, not just dismissing him and Farke if we don't do well in the first 3 games. He can't have too much time obviously but I'll happily leave it 10-12 games before judging this season (unless we're doing disastrously). Unfortunately I think even if we narrowly lose today there will be fans who immediately will jump on that.

In the Premier League, it's normally positions 1 to 20 based on size of players wages budget. There is an odd exception, but generally the team which pays the biggest players wages finishes top of the League.
I haven't seen stats for the Chump, but it's bound to be a similar situation. There will be an odd exception, and I presume that NCFC hierarchy are hoping we will be the exception sooner or later.
I can't see Farke being shown the door this season, unless it goes horribly wrong, because he has overseen the reduction of the wage bill and sale of key players, following the company line. Why would he be sacked if we're above the trouble zone?
