Presuming this will be his last season with us, definitely needs a testimonial. At times he's been worth the ticket price alone.

Agree a testimonial would be appropriate, but one that raised money for a charity, as i'm sure he does not need the cash.
Agree that he has at times been worth the ticket price alone, but for me there have also been times when I have wondered exactly why he is on the pitch, but that has not always been down to him.
But overall he has been a credit to himself and the club.

Hope he gets a testimonial, don't care where the money goes (50/50 between Wes and the Community Foundation perhaps?).
Wonder what he'll do next?
Retiring from International Football suggests he intends to keep on playing at club level, as otherwise he'd just wait and retire from football altogether in a few months.
Could possibly envisage Hibs? Or Shamrock Rovers? Or perhaps even a USL team, like Joe Cole has done?
Can't really envisage him signing for a lesser Championship side like a Rotherham or going to League One, what does he have left to achieve in English football that he could feasibly do?
Outside bet is on a Paul Lambert reunion at Stoke? I could actually see Lambert doing something left field like that, and Wes playing out of his skin for one last year for the man who made him.

One of those players who creates moments in games you don't forget. And can be worth the price of a ticket on his own. Absolutely fantastic to watch and rightfully in the NCFC history books. Will we have another player like him, for that many years, at the club again any time soon? You'd have to doubt it.

Definitely a City great and to spend so long at one club these days is brilliant, despite some doubts a few years ago probably prompted by his Agent Wes has always appeared happy and comfortable at our club and he thoroughly deserves a great send off.

His deadline day frustration was kind of understandable in hindsight.... Paul Lambert + his partnership with Holt was the making of him.
Grant Holt had signed for Villa two weeks earlier, Lambert was the manager. And Hughton wasn't using him very much.
Wouldn't have gone well, but you can understand the temptation to try and relive those days when Hughton had given up on trying to play football and Hoolahan had been rendered a spare part.
Often forget how negative Hughton became that season. RVW came out and said that he realised it wasn't going to work out for him when Hughton said he was going to go more direct.... ended up with Hooper and Hoolahan stuck on the bench for the second half of the season and Elmander up front with a slow Snodgrass our only link between defence and attack.

As has been said a City great. Huge ability, but could also drive you mad. I wish him every success with whatever he does in the future, and thanks Wes for the good stuff.

I was but a mere 14 years old when Wes signed for Norwich and I'd never thought at 25 years of age I'd A) still be watching him B) still loving every minute of watching him. Legend gets thrown about a lot but Wes is a true Norwich legend, not many players make 10 years at a club any more. He was instrumental in my favourite season as a Norwich support (11/12), and some of my favourite games, 4-1, 5-1, Portsmouth away. I feel privileged to have been able to watch him and can't wait to say goodbye properly on Saturday. Absolute spot on decision by Wes and the club

Also Morty.... his agent was trying to convince him to leave that summer (to Coventry I think) because he felt he was too good for League One, but Hoolahan wanted to stay and make amends.
So it sounds like Lambert actually liked the idea of Coventry coming in with a fee. Course of history could have completely changed if that deadline day move had happened... hard to see Holt and Martin having scored as many as they did without Wes behind them.

I believe he has been offered a contract and the ball is in his court. Obviously it is likely only to be a year, on much reduced terms, and I'm sure it will have been explained to him that he may not be first choice.

The Tettey thing sounds a bit like the two parties calling each others bluff.
No announced departure suggest that's either Tettey hasn't formally decided not to sign the deal on the table, or the club hasn't decided that they can't improve their offer slightly?
Or could be the club have said "this is what we'll offer, by all means take some time to see if you can get better".
There are probably only a very limited number of options for Tettey, although Rosenberg is probably one of them. Perhaps he is hoping they will make a move and their offer makes financial sense.
Can't see him getting more money in France than he can earn with us, even post-parachute payments. And as a defensive midfielder he isn't going to have a stack of exciting offers from exotic locations, e.g. like Huckerby and the MLS.
Wes will probably get MLS offers because of the millions of Americans who think they are Irish when they aren't.
