Witch player in our squad is our "weakest link" at the moment? Why do you think so? Please, explain your point of view :)

I think Bradley Johnson is our weakest link at the moment, because of his lack of passing-ability. He also gives away posession way to easily.. We also seem to have better players in this position..

Sorry for bad grammer, my nickname explains why ;p

A left footed centre back for me, to replace Bassong, with Martin reverting to the right back position for another season.

Spot on. I think defensively we are definitely weakest, we have people who can come in and replace Johnson but we don't have many options at the back.

Whittaker can be absolutely terrible, so I would switch Martin to RB and either commit to playing Bennett or bring in a top quality centre half.

Defence is not our problem it's lack of goals, we looked  defensively decent with 11 men on the field.

It's going forward we are crap at.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it is the defence that needs stabilising. We to bring in two, possibly three defensive players to mix in with the better defenders we already have. At centre back we need to establish a new first choice pairing, something along the lines of the 'McKay - Fleming' style. Martin is a full back not a centre back, regardless of his ability to 'fill in there on occasions'.

Johnson has also been a weak link for far too long and needs to be replaced. Tettey is great on his day but appears to be a little too injury prone but Johnson is not good enough to be his cover.

Will be pleased if a fourth striker with relevant track record comes in, especially if tall and versatile.

I agree with this also.

To the OP, I think that Tettey and O'Neil are capable of playing in Johnson's position, and both are better than he is. Johnson is a decent backup player, no more.

I've been told by QPR fans that O'Neil was a defensive midfielder for them. Earlier in his career he was an attacking player, probably lost a yard of pace since.

Whilst we need some fresh blood in in key areas, is the real need an experienced manager?

For me the issues last season with arguably our best squad was the tactics with a focus on not losing rather than going for a win. The attacking players under Hughton suffered. We lacked creativity and if we conceded you could not see us scoring.

We can get in new players but the tactics, leadership ..etc both on and off the field need to be in place.

Maybe Adams can deliver , I hope he can, but after Wolves we need to see signs of improvement.

Adams set up to attack against Wolves Surgery, but unfortunately they didn't turn up.

Well if Fer, Tettey, O'Neil and Howson can come into the centre of midfield to compete we look strong there. I've been waiting for Johnson to be dropped for at least a year now, I don't really rate him. He always reminds me of Nicky Butt at Man U. You could see he was never really good enough nor would he get in anyones choice XI's if all the squad was considered but he'd always be fit and available and he'd worm his way in due to injuries etc. One of them midfielders that's not particularly good at football but is good at moping around the centre circle looking 'ard!

The defence needs to be reinforced regardless of whether Bassong leaves. He either needs direct competition or completely replacing. We need to chuck some money at this one £3m+ and get a top rate replacement/ challenger.

I reckon seeing as Becchio is out of favour we may need another striker as well. Perhaps someone a little unpredictable. We have our finisher (Hooper),our pacy workrate guy (Grabban),our awkward tall techy guy (Laffs) and a couple of youth players that may come into their own but i'd like someone like James Wilson or even (dare I say it) Harry Kane back at this level.

I still think the main need is an alternative to Wes at ACM. Wes is fine, but his game isn't suited to all situations. We're being linked to Kris Commons, who can play LW or ACM and could be the answer.

What team are you watching?

Defensively we are frail, and need a commanding CB as a matter of urgency.

Right back and another CB.

Cuellar seems to be covering the CB, but I think we really need a standout RB like Olsson on the other side. I'd smash the cheque book out for Byram right now or something as good as Naughton was for us.

That would be an epic signing (of Huckerby 2003 proportions),but I just can't see us being able to pull that off, Newcastle are said to want him.
