What's our priority this week?

The transfer deadline closes in one week, what are our priority areas?

A left winger is right at the top of the list for me, and a centre back if there are any out there who could improve our team (Kyle Bartley on loan perhaps?).

Right back isn't an issue for me as long as it is Russell Martin playing there. 

I'd ideally like to see us sign three players this week, if they are loans then so be it, at least one winger and one centre back. Possibly even two wingers.

What would you strengthen?

My priority would be a goal-scoring AM who could get the most out of Jerome and Hooper up front. LW would be next, though I still don't see why we haven't tried Olsson up front and Garrido at LB. Hopefully Bassong will be the CB addition we need to give us a left-sided / right-sided partnership. It isn't about new players though, IMO, it's about getting the good players we have to perform as a team. We were a long way away from that yesterday.

I believe we have enough in defence providing the Manager picks the right players, Bassong should already be back for instance. Its what is in from of the back four that is the problem and the tactics the team goes out with. So, for me its a left winger and a quality strong central midfielder, Torres would do nicely.

Cuellar is not so much an accident waiting to happen as a accident always in progress, Turner has reverted to the form he had in the early parts of Hughton's reign, Hooiveld is not good enough, Miquel is possibly not even real, Bennett isn't great and Bassong is a *bleep*.

Main priority is to keep hold of key players. Redmond, Hooper and Ruddy being the main ones. Olsson is a good player, but he's not key in the same way those 3 are. I also don't think we need a centre back to be honest, I just think we need Bassong back in the side. I think he would bring the best out of Turner as well. 

Left wing is the main priority for me. Bakary Sako would be my first choice as he's only got 6 months left on his contract, however I don't think he'd want to come here. Obviously we also need to replace Olsson as well if he were to leave.

Midfield leader for me. Someone to do for us what Pritchard did for Brentford yesterday....simple passes and keep the team ticking over...

If we are in for a splurge then a proper left midfielder / left winger and a mobile centre half too please.

Yeah I'd agree with that as well actually. Only other player that could possibly be added is Jerome, however it's very unlikely that he'll go having only joined in the summer.

If Bassong comes back in then I would hope he would be paired with Ryan Bennett as soon as RB is fit again? Or maybe Miquel if we actually signed him for any reason?

I want the impossible. Someone with flair, not just skill. Someone who reads the game so well that he looks as though he is coasting whereas he is dictating.

I do hope that AN has spotted someone from north of the Border who he couldn't afford before but we we can.

Tettey is more important than any other central midfielder to us, and seeing as he is injury-prone, we need another one of him to step in and prevent weak middle-of-the-park performances like we witnessed on Saturday.

I'd not look to sell anyone, with the exception of Olsson, but only if the price was £5m +, all up-front.

I can't see the Club spending any money, maybe a loan or two.

I must say I think Gary O'Neil's experience is what we lack most when he is unfit. I have been impressed with what I have seen of him.

Its got to be shoring up the cbs,   get a left midfielder and make sure we never have to see a cm containing BJ or SW again.    GON out for some time if his foot is broken,  howson not great defensively,  and tetteys groin/knee means he needs cover.     VOO - who knows when he will next appear.

Make the fullbacks defend,  find the best partner for Bassong,  buy if needed,   

As for an attacking cm - I dont think we need one - we have scored goals but need to get the ball to the ones we have,  and defend far better.    As for olsson wide left.  he has JUST 2 assist since being here and ever present.  Over the same time period we have 7,  3+ times more from the right flank from apparently inferior players.  In comparison Garrido has 2 assists in 20% fewer games so overall Olsson is our least successful attacking full back.   In addition (and its the only praise he will get from me today) BJ filled in the wide left far more effectively he does in CM and is the no 1 alternativ.   Remind me again why Olsson left mid is a good idea??

Seriously though I expect minimal activity and more disappointment I'm afraid. Who on earth of any quality wants to come here and who really wants any of our players on current form? So why get your hopes up? If anything Redmond, Ruddy and Olsen will go and we will bank the cash based on having the strongest squad in the league. Possibly a couple from the pub league coming in I suppose.
