Where will Howson come in?

I think that he is likely to play at Shrewsbury and then be on the bench at Blackpool but at the moment a player really needs to be injured, suspended or have a serious dip in form to be dropped from the League team. On that basis I think Howson will have to fit in where the opportunity presents itself rather than naturally ousting someone from the team. It is a great problem for NA to have.

at the mo howson will be fighting for a place on the bench - the starting pair keep their places while playing well, VOO will be given time and ONeil is impressing in shoring things up.

He will work his was in and get some pitch time,   but still not sure if its replacing BJ and using his engine box to box (probably my preference) or wes (which seems to be VOOs preference) if the latter Johnny will have to improve his key passes and assists which are generally missing from his game since being with us.

Agree with the view that this is a key season for him - when he learns to impose himself on a game consistently he can be the star of this side.

Two assists today for the first 2 goals in the U21s game at Colney suggest that the skills are still there. Interesting to see how Adams is going to handle the rotation of players to keep everyone happy.

I suspect that Howson may get a run out at Shrewsbury. It could happen sooner if the knock which Wes received on Tuesday keeps him out against Brum.

Further in the future, Adams has to fit in Wes, Howson, McGrandles and Vadis, and even McNeill into the central creative role(s), so will he replace one of the two more defensive players in the centre, Johnson and Tettey, but they have each scored two goals.

He has hinted often enough that team selection will depend on the particular opponents. If we play a team with two very lethal strikers, we could be more defensive, whereas if he suspects a weak defence among the opponents, we could go 4-4-2, etc.

With so many good players available to him, he has quite a choice problem. I find it very exciting- there could be changes in tactics and during matches, and we can accommodate resting players and even injuries without weakening the side unduly.

Possibly, but which of Jerome, Hooper and Grabban (or Lafferty) would you drop GMD?

I wouldnt think of it in those terms, I would consider him for selection there if the form of any of them dropped. So at the moment none of them, but if one of them went off the boil I would consider Howson as an option along with the other strikers
