Why are we so good at producing keepers?

Today there were 3 Norwich youth products playing in goal in the Championship..... Jed Steer, Declan Rudd, and Remi Matthews.

Aston Oxborough on the bench for us.

Angus Gunn started for Southampton.

Then in League One Steven Arnold was starting in goal for Shrewsbury.

North of the border Joe Lewis started for Aberdeen.

Ben Killip started in the National League.

If we just look at starters in the four professional English divisions.... that's 5 keepers out of 92 league clubs, and ignoring the fact that not all of those clubs would have played today, that means we've produced about 6% of today's starting keepers.

That's a pretty mental number!

Could it be because anybody over 6 foot who is really good at catching balls will end up playing rugby if they come from up North?
