Witty/Humourous Player Nicknames

On holiday I started looking at player nicknames and am on a mission to find the best/most apt and hunourorus nicknames past and present.

So I have a Split Pin, a Raspberry, a pair of pre war centre halves known as Death and Glory as well as the obvious One Size and Kris Musampa....

Also interested to know if every club has a Beast a Psycho and or. aTrigger

Hey it was great that he got some games, any of your own keepers fit again?

We had "Simon Lappin, King of Spain" Scottish but looks Spanish. 

Grant Holt was "Horse", something to do with his hooves possibly....

Josh Murphy was nicknamed 'Chicken Wing' by a few of his teammates  :lol:

Has David Fox still got it by the way? Classy little player for us.

David Fox is our holding midfield and we are better with him but we lack pace generally....and he doesn't have much but he's a top player for our level re vision and ability...doesn't really score though

Not sure if Matthews will come back as we have signed Hulls U20 England keeper ( our seventh keeper of the season counting the bench ones) but he came across well to the fans and the general impression is if fit we should try and get him on-loan in January.

Our three main keepers are long term injured and the 17 yo youth keeper we brought off the bench at Blackburn dislocated his finger in training...so we had a 16 yo on the bench at Pompey 

The club  twitter announcement re the Hull keeper was he sprained his wrist signing the contract....and I think probably 40% of us thought it might be true!

Thats quite an unlucky run you have had there on keepers!

Yeah Foxy was never pacy, but when we were in league 1 he was very good at controlling the game from deep, but have to say he was just a bit too lightweight for the Championship.

Well we escaped the curse of the Checkatrade trophy last night....can you imagine being the Marketing guy who sold that to his bosses..."we'll get really involved in the grass roots clubs...it will be a PR coup! Everyone will love us and we'll get there reflected glory of the Premiership because their clubs are playing too. After all who doesn't want to go to Wembley!"

I have a longstanding project on rivalries which is fascinating....

I saw a feature yesterday on Phil Mulryne now a priest who they called the Lords player which I thought was quite cute....is that something fans recognise ofr just a media construct ( a bit like Heighway and Hall at Liverpool were never called Big/Little Bamber)

I can't help having a soft spot for the Suffolk lot....they had my hero for many years when they bought Mariner....and we never hated you for Colin Sullivan going.....so we a re even handed in our indifference to those that pillage our club

Ah "Ex Man Utd player" Mulryne, that actually spent the bulk of his career at Norwich City.

By all accounts the lad was a right rogue when he was here, loved his betting shops and his kebabs!
