There is no comparison between the RVW situation and what happened with Bassong. I still get the feeling that RVW will end up at Sporting even if its on loan and we pay a part of his wages......and that is a very good investment. We need to close this chapter as soon as possible.

None of us know what has gone on behind the scenes. AN is unlikely to give up on RVW without looking into it but maybe he has and decided it's not worth trying to make it happen?

It's different from Basso who had a successful track record before things went wrong - RVW just has a disastrous season and it would hardly be surprising if he decides he'd prefer to move on.

I firmly believe the deal with Sporting will happen, the two clubs will agree to simply deduct the shortfall in RVW wages from the transfer fee and everybody will be happy.

However AN may wave a magic wand over RVW and he becomes a top PL striker or not!

Its possible I guess. AN wont want players he cant call upon due to the squad number system, and if the club feel they cant move Ricky on, either permenant or on loan, then he's better off in the squad - but I doubt we'd wait til Liver-y had had a medical to pull the plug if its RvW related - somewhat messing people around and generally we behave better than that.

I suspect something has come up in the medical despite the verbal from his agent. Either that or a better calibre of target has become available and we're using it as an excuse
