I’ll go first. I’ve actually enjoyed it !
Yes, there certainly are issues, I really hope a decent striker comes in soon but before the season started I don’t think any of us really knew who Jamal Lewis was and now he’s first choice left back. Trybull, Zimmermann ( yes I know he wasn’t great yesterday) and, after a slow start Vrancic , have all done well. That’s without watching one of the best young players we’ve ever had. Angus is one of us and Reed has been very committed for a loan player.
I realise there has to be improvements, particularly at the sharp end of the pitch, and we have to get rid of Martin and Naismith but I’m looking forward to next season already.

One big issue FF is the false dawn regarding the defence. For a while there we thought it was fixed, BUT, noooooooooooooooo it ain't with a capital ain't. Last season 69 conceded, this season 60 conceded, I would suggest that isn't an improvement. I won't even go into the number of goals scored, we all know that tale of woe.

We've been depending on Madison's fee to bail us out, supply us with new players and who knows what else, but unless his scan shows a miracle, nobody is going to pay anywhere near the fee we hoped for, for a helluva long time if at all, so where does that leave us financially? The sale of the likes of Lewis, Klose, Oliveira, Wildshutt, Naismith (please), Martin (please), Murphy isn't going to bring in enough to run the club and give us a transfer pot.

Please correct me if I'm wrong chaps, but I get the impression of us being up proverbial creek without paddle, but I hope I'm horribly wrong. OTBC.

Worst season since relegation to League 1.

No real defensive improvement. Lack of goals. Lack of excitement.

Season before that was also shocking to be honest GJP.... when Chris Martin came into the side to keep us up by the skin of our teeth. 17th but only 3 points from 22nd.

By the way.... we conceded less goals (59) when finishing 17th that season than we have this season under Farke. Think that knocks the idea that Farke has sorted the defense firmly on the head doesn't it?

Same number of goals too actually, so a better goal difference by 1.

It feels a bit like history repeating itself.... this is our Roeder season. Farke is Roeder.

Not been a great season by any stretch of the imagination and obviously ending up below the likes of Ipswich has made it just that little bit worse.

I think Farke has shown some faith in youth, has given them game time and they've generally done well when called upon. Some of the signings have been good, some not good too, but considering the amount of money we've had to play with you'd have to say overall it's just about a positive.

It's hard to be too positive for next season purely because we've struggled at most aspects on the pitch this season at one point or another. It looked like we were generally improving in the second half of the season for a short spell but some recent performances has meant that tailed off. Still, we beat Villa and Leeds at home, scoring more than one goal in both, which is a step in the right direction for home game entertainment.

Fingers crossed, I didn't expect us to get promoted from the championship after our league one promotion and i'm not expecting it now, so it'll be a brilliant surprise if we manage it!

It was a transition season - not enough progress through the year for me, defensively without Tettey as a shield we look ropey at the back, incl when the supposed new messiah Hanley plays. However it is the lack of improved attacking threat or mobility is my key issue.


Personally last season was worse; great entertainment in goals scored, when the players could be arsed - too often they were not and realistically were no more likely to make the play offs than this season. Despite last years squad being superior, used to the league & having the capability to gain promotion their attitude more than the manager meant it didn't happen, costing us a fortune in wages and lost parachute payments. The lunatics had indeed started to run the asylum, and its cost has been this years fare.

Well when Webber and Farke were first appointed I was expecting very little to be honest, particularly from Farke considering where he had come from.

Now its all over, even taking into account the rebuilding of the squad I would give Webber a 4 out of 10 (generous, just do not like him, find him unprofessional and a bit of a twat) and Farke a 7 out of 10 as I feel he has done OK, learnt quickly and handled the situation professionally, so overall that's 5.5 out of 10 for the new regime.

I am not of the view that we will continue to slide, but have serious concerns as to how we are now going to transition from an average Championship side worse than Ipswich to genuine play-off contenders, the close season is as usual very critical and just how are we going to bring in a couple of good enough strikers to help us mount a challenge next season god only knows, it will need good money spent on both transfer fee and salary, as that's one position where money is demanded to get quality, and we need a couple of strikers that can give us something like a minimum 15 goals each or one who can bring 30......dream on.

Amongst many low lights, do not get me started on that Millwall debacle or failure to sign a decent striker in January just to name two, there were actually a few glimmers of hope......I was genuinely encouraged by our Cup performances against top sides, also some very decent away wins against some of the better sides in the division, and also several players despite some initial first impressions have improved and started to impress, plus Maddison and Lewis have been a delight, and I can see not only Maddison (obviously) but also Lewis being very big players in the future.

Also on the positive side, Tettey signing a new contract cheered me up as did seeing several of our youngsters doing well away on loan......but that's about it...overall one of the most disappointing seasons I have experienced in recent years, and last season is up there too, and now looking forward to another....hopefully not so disappointing....OTBC

Can I be the first to suggest signing David McGoldrick on a free transfer

6 goals in 10 games for Ipswich last season. Give him a one year contract as an option from the bench, to wind up those down the road.
