Well man-management is supposed to be one of his strengths, and this is probably as key as tactics to getting the best out of our current crop. 

Alex Neil was a good man-manager at Hamilton however because he had the esteem of the players. Time will tell whether he will be equally loved and accepted by our current bunch

The players like him, which is a good sign (even Lafferty has gone out of his way to praise him) and you can start to see a new style in our play. We're moving the ball faster in the final third and pressing much higher up the pitch to take pressure off our defence. I like it.

Answering my own question this is what he says on Twitter:

"But as i said its four months to play some football. Best of luck to Norwich for the rest of the season."

There's a thread on the Pinkun about it, apparently Laffs sent a series of tweets explaining that he asked to be loaned out so he can play ahead of important internationals, the club wanted to keep him but he wanted to go and is looking forward to coming back in the Summer.

Sounded very amicable and a sensible chap.

I don't think you'll see Lafferty in a City shirt again personally. Great guy, always gives 100% but isn't going to start centrally ahead of Jerome, Grabban or Hooper but needs to for the sake of his Ireland career.

The jury is still out for me but you cannot make a decision based on a few games. Do like how he comes across in interviews early days and results have been not bad at all overall so a good start.

Having known nothing about him before I had reservations about his appointment (as I did about that of Adams). I was concerned when we almost slipped up against Cardiff and the Brentford game was a shambles and could easily have been a rout. Birmingham was an improvement defensively but we rarely threatened to score. Blackpool was a very encouraging performance, but it has to be said that it was against the bottom club.

The fact that Laffs was the only player to leave (on loan) was a plus for AN (although Olsson came close) and I like the addition of Andreu and possibly Dorrans as well. The next four games will give a much better indication of AN's impact and how things might go for the rest of the season. I'm hopeful, but we need a consistent run of performances before being totally convinced.

Yes he comes across very well in interviews and seems the type of guy that you might be prepared to run through brick walls for. An inspirational leader is exactly what we need.

Absolutely loving what he's doing right now. Just love the way he operates as well, and his interviews fill me with confidence. So far so good at least. The only annoying thing about him is that whenever I hear him talk I find it hard not to try and impersonate his accent. I think my girlfriend is quite tired of me going up to her and in a Scottish accent saying "I thought Bradley Johnson was excellent down the left hand-side". 

This also seems the most appropriate thread to post about the dream I had about him the other day.

Basically I had a dream that I was in my living room and I heard some noise upstairs, so I went to the bottom of the stairs to check it out and Alex Neil was coming down the stairs, but he was wearing a Crystal Palace tracksuit. Rather than question what the Norwich manager was doing in my house I simply asked him why he was wearing a Crystal Palace tracksuit, and he smirked and said because he's their manager now. I then got very emotional. Fortunately at that point I then woke up and breathed a sigh of relief that Palace have only just appointed Pardew.
