They were under par yesterday, just like we were at Southampton. Of course anybody that saw the game could see that we were good on the day.

When it comes to Bournemouth the world has been brainwashed into thinking that they're more than a bunch of average Championship players and Calum Wison.

Bournemouth are the novelty team this season. They will have the neutrals clamouring for their success and they wil be likened to Swansea. Eddie Howe will also be able to do no wrong.

I was surprised at how easily we beat them yesterday, it really did look like it could be 5 or 6 at one point. Annoying we gave them the obligatory soft consolation goal yet again. We really need to stop giving away easy goals.

I was surprised by how flat the atmosphere was yesterday (or at least how it came across on my stream). At 3-0 Id expect the place to be rocking, but it seemed deathly silent at times and the goals were almost muted cheers like when you finally overpower a lower league side you've been playing in the cup. It felt as if the crowd expected us to see off Bournemouth quite easily and that beating them wasnt a great achievement. If thats the case Im surprised we have become that arrogant. Bournemouth are very much our rivals in the league this season, and this was an important victory, though the crowd seemed to treat it as routine. Do the fans have expectation levels too high this season? Just my observations as this all surprised me.

yep - me too.  Thought atmosphere was decent yesterday.  But I would like to see the team get more vocal backing when it is tight, which of course is exactly when they need it most!

In fairness on MOTD last night they were waxing lyrical about how good Hoolahan was, rather than concentrating on how badly Bournemouth performed.

And when you look back at the Sunderland win, when the media were mainly talking about how shambolic Sunderland were, it was probably a fair point to make, because we didn't really get out of first gear in that game. If that Sunderland team had played the Norwich City that we saw yesterday then it would have been embarrassing for them.

No Tilly, what its about is you bringing some argument / grudge over from another site. As I said, Wiz has started a perfectly legitimate thread. I am not being some kind of killjoy Nazi, I am being objective and fair to someone who has a topic to discuss. Play the ball, not the man.

If Wiz, or anyone for that matter, steps out of line the moderators will deal with it.

When this site opened, everyone was welcome here, with a completely clean slate, regardless of who they were, or what history they had on other discussion forums. If someone has something to discuss here, whether it be positive or negative, then thats fine. And like I said, if someone wants to play games and be deliberately provocative, then that will be dealt with regardless of who it is. Contrary to what seems to be some peoples opinion, there is complete freedom of speech here, within the context of football discussion.

Now, getting back on topic....

I think sometimes, and I have done the same in the past myself, it can be all too easy to think that the world is against us, and that no one likes "little old" Norwich. But we are in our 4th season in the last 5 in the toughest division in the world, and I think, so far anyway, we are getting just as many ( if not more) positive comments as we are negative.

Agree with that Morty, but in a way it could be to our advantage as it perhaps helps keep us under the radar a bit.

To be honest, I don't believe there's any conscious bias against NCFC in the press. It's just a lot of harried journos trying to crank out stories to tight deadlines who really only know about the top 7 or 8 teams in the Premiership. Swansea got the attention the season we both went up because they had Rodgers and then Laudrup managing them, so there was the Chelsea connection and then a high-profile name for the media to latch onto. They were also a better "plucky overachiever" story, as are Bournemouth this season. We'll have our time in the limelight again if/when we trouble the upper reaches of the table, but the teams that will get the best coverage will always be the teams in the bigger cities where the better journalists live and work.

Their ascent from from literally the bottom of League Two (21st) to the Premier League in under a decade, without a big sugar daddy and with some players who had been with them since their League Two days, was a truly amazing story though so made for interesting coverage, particularly on the TV. Easy to understand why they were the bigger draw, even if we were their equal as a side and had achieved a double promotion.

Yup, there are big team and flavour of the month biases but rarely have I felt that the mainstream media are out to get us. Of course they were incredibly pro Hughton so we were made to look like the bad guys when that relationship ended. They really were trying to paint it like it was another case of Charlton getting rid of Curbishley.

Especially the old guard on MOTD, e.g. Lineker a former Spurs teammate, and Shearer a former Newcastle colleague.
