At this moment in time I'm not seeing this as a positive. I'm seeing us allowing a relegation rival to take ownership of a player who can slot straight into their system and do the business. 

I'm going to judge this window in its entirety though, in other words I'll see who that £7m goes towards. As long as we strengthen at least as much as Bournemouth do in this window then I suppose we can apply relativity. 

To quote a Bournemouth fan, and its difficult to disagree:

However you look at it, nearly 8 million quid for our 4th choice striker is genius. 

We just need to spend the money now on someone who actually wants to be here.

That's pretty much what I'm saying though Morty, for me it becomes a positive when this £7m/£8m goes towards a quality replacement, and in previous January windows we've not always had success in bringing anybody of note into the club.

That's why I'll judge this window in its entirety. When that somebody who wants to be here actually arrives here I will celebrate the good piece of business. Until that money is spent it simply improves the bottom line of the annual accounts, not the playing squad.

Absolutely, I didn't state it as fact, but these fees could be made up too.....

So we've sold Bradley Johnson and Lewis Grabban for close to 15 million quid. What a world.

Not very often that you hear facts from official sources, both of those were undisclosed fees.

Hearsay is often all we have to go by.

Naismith won't be a replacement striker though. He isn't one at Everton and at Rangers  he had Boyd and Miller among others as company up front.

So unless AN sees something that no other manager has he won't be the man up top.

Now that I think of it, is is clearly complete BS.

Because we activated Grabban's release clause, allegedly £3.5m. 

His release clause isn't going to be "£3.5m + a 30% of profit sell on clause", so clearly no sell on clause involved.

I do think we need 3 strikers to be honest. 

You get one striker injured and you are down to the other having to play every single 90 minutes every single week. 

Perhaps a loan would do us until the end of the season though. 

I suspect we've got somebody in mind, we know that we wanted Gayle and it is probably the case that Grabban would have moved to Bournemouth on deadline day if we'd landed a replacement? 

I really hope that it isn't Dwight Gayle though, difficult to see how he'd be an improvement on Grabban, 6 of his 12 Palace goals have been penalties.

I want to know what the FFP implications for Bournemouth are, they have already fallen foul once, I cant believe, with the amount they have spent this season, they wont be again this year.

I think he will fit into Wes role as you say and perhaps show a bit more energy in that position than the trickery of Wes.

We need the impossible. A player who can play the single role but bang in one in two/three chances.

AN will never start a match with two strikers in this division. From what I saw of Saturday's team and peoples reports, we played five at the back and every other team who does that plays 5-3-2 but AN didn't. 

So we will want only three strikers probably. One playing and maybe two on the bench allowing for injuries, suspensions etc.

And just as we spoke about "strenghtening" the team we would sell Grabban to get 29 years old striker from championship who has already peaked and wont improve anymore and has no experience from premiership?

Ofc he could do the job for us, but signing of his stature would be short term option to replace 1 to 1 our third choise striker and give player wanted by our rival. Cant see much profit from there if you consider all the risks. Hard player to sell, will start to decay in few years if not earlier, no proof he would do any good in premiership nor fit in our tactics etc.

If we take risk by signing unproved striker we should try to get someone with potential to grow and someone we can offload if things wont work for us. McCormack should be almost free to be worth of punt.
