News from Paddy Davitt that the Everton manager still not letting Naismith go. Maybe we should call a halt on this one, there should be others out there that can do the same job..The days pass quickly, we don't really want to be as we were last window

I hope something happens sooner rather than later, we all know that we need another CB if not two, another striker who knows where the net is. Every day I look and look hoping that a rumour turns out to be true. We need our club to go to the next level we were told that the transfers would be done early in the window, this weekend is the middle of the month!!

It came from an article on the Little Yellow Bird Project  about how rumours take on a life of their own on the internet and a few of us started bouncing  references to George Santayana ( A Spanish philosopher who died in 1952 by the way) around twitter. It ended up on Sky Sports, proving comprehensively that most of what you read on social media about player movements is absolute garbage!

And the state of the Naismith deal is not necessarily as described by Martinez. Note that Alex said we haven't had to move from our primary targets so far.

Not really related to current situation, but if Newcastle goes down and we stay up, we hopefuly go after Wijnaldum with serious bid. That guy has everything we need for successor of our beloved Wes Hoolahan. He murdered us, but seems like his level wont drop against big guys either.

Disappointed if Naismith doesn't come but if it's decided about now, this leaves plenty of time to sort someone else.

More important to me is the CB position, and it's worry not to hear about any activity there.  I really hope something is happening in the background and we hear about a signing in the next week or so.

As for Chris Martin, I think he's a good Champ level striker but not good enough for the Prem.  Nothing since he left us has made me think otherwise.

Very annoyed about this. It has been implied by respected journos that it was all virtually a done deal. I'm annoyed if we are ruining this by doing it on the cheap, and annoyed that he is messing us about.

I wouldn't even be that disappointed if he didn't come, but its been talked about for so long now, that you convince yourself about how it would work out, where he'd play etc.

i do feel its the shelvey swansea effect;   a deal in place,  agent has a dawning realisation that he can get more elsewhere - that more is a step too far for our finances,  where we are having to sell to fund moves because we dont get our price money until may.
