I'm fairly happy with the signing. I'm very worried about the possibility of Oliveira going though. Any good faith and positivity I'm holding onto will be thrown out of the window if he goes.

I'd be amazed if Oliveira went now, the club know what a massively detrimental effect selling him will have. The main interested party as well is apparently Reading, who have just spent £7.5m on Aluko from Fulham, and have already spent a few million this summer. I can't see them having the funds to take Nelson from us as well, and now they've got Aluko they might not even be interested. Oliveira said a couple of weeks ago about how he's happy here. With all that in mind it'd really surprise me if he left.
Happy with Hanley, imagine that's the last of our transfer business for this window, in-comings or out-goings. That said I wouldn't mind seeing McGovern, Jarvis or even Naismith off. Don't really understand why we have McGovern, Matthews and Jones all as back-up at the moment. I thought Matthews was highly-rated yet he can't get in ahead of McGovern at the moment, may as well shift one of them. Maybe get Matthews loaned out if he's not even gonna make our bench.

I suspect Matthews is still here because we've been hoping to shift McGovern but no takers? Likely to be on far more money than clubs at his level are prepared to pay him. Would probably be better for Matthews to go out and get another full season of football rather than sit on our bench anyway, longer term view upside to being stuck with McGovern?
Glad we've signed a proper old fashioned English centre half, I hope he'll show the new foreign lads that you need to put your head in where it hurts to be a success here. They've got the physical attributes, just need a bit of that "do or die" attitude. Unless 'Zonal Marking' has been the problem, in which case lets hope that Farke scraps that idea sharpish.
Wouldn't surprise me terribly if we still see a left back come in (possibly a loan?), is clear that Toffolo isn't rated and Webber and Farke surely aren't blind to the terrible start that Husband is having.

Jerome I can handle, as long as bring in a capable younger replacement on a permanent transfer on the same day.
Cam Jam is a decent player but its clear that we aren't going to create the multiple chances per game he needs to score goals in this system, should we get it functioning correctly and assuming that we don't abandon it in the near future. He's 31 and his style of play makes him hugely dependent on his ability to cover a lot of ground, so what does he have left at this level? Two seasons tops?
Tettey I can handle, just don't really rate the bloke now that injuries have affected his stamina (which was basically all he previously had which set him apart, see above), probably on a fair whack and sure we can replace. Again, as long as he's replaced on the same day.
But Nelson Oliviera....sell one of our only two consistent and proven 'match winners' (Pritchard the other) and we're just not going to be competitive in this league this season. Its more than obvious that we're going to be relying on moments of genius from Oliviera and Pritchard if we are going to be anywhere near the play-offs this season.... those two are the only thing which separates us from any other mediocre team in this league, e.g. Ipswich.

*bleep*, apparently Swansea want Oliveira. I'd trust us to fend off interest from a little nothing club like Reading, but if a PL club comes for him he'll force a move I reckon. Hope we charge way over the odds. I'd want £20m.

I think 20m would be hard to resist. But he has never played in the Premiership(or did he play there with Swansea?), so whilst I rate him at this level it would be a risk for any club, we have seen all too many times that good in the Championship doesn't necessarily mean good in the Prem.
Could have done without him being called up for his national team though, I can imagine the coach telling him how he needs to be playing at the highest level to be selected regularly.
Just checked, scored one goal for Swansea while he was on loan there. Also noted how much he has been out on loan and moved around. Lets hope he feels at home here and wants to stay.

Can still sign free agents, but the 'pool' looks like mostly ageing has-beens who will just be looking for a final pay day (Bassong and Mulumbu included).
Joe Ledley possible the only one that interests me, but a Cardiff return looking most likely.... might be a decent experienced head to replace Howson and Dorrans? Do a Gary O'Neil type job for us as an all round midfielder? Needs to impress to keep his Wales place so wouldn't be coming here to play golf.
The rest of Sky's freebie XI just look like semi-retired deadwood to me, and we've just cleared a load of that out.
