He then allowed Martin to leave on a free (after Martin requested it),praised Martin in the press, then granted Martin a testimonial game. Whilst out of the side Martin was praised for his work with the U23's and accompanied Webber on various events. So clearly he isn't referring to Russell Martin.

We aren't discussing whether Martin leaving was a good thing, I was getting seriously sick of the bloke and his delusions. We are discussing whether he was included in the group of people that Webber was slagging off.... and all evidence points to 'no'.

As far as accompanying Webber to 'events', a lot of went on way before Webber was within a hundred miles of NCFC so I think it' highly unlikely he had a clue of the influence he held in the days of CH forward. Maybe he just like him, all that shows is his judgment of character is suspect.

A large number in the dressing room couldn't stand the guy because he wouldn't stick to the 'what happens in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room' unwritten rule. Also known for publicly slagging off his teammates but not accepting his share of blame when due.

Russel Martin reminds me a bit of something somebody told me about Matt Jackson, seemingly lovely but actually a lot of the players really disliked him, as he was a bit of a Snitchy Mcbrownnose. To be honest, we aren't unique, footballers, on the whole aren't the sharpest, and are generally young daft lads with too much money. I have a few friends who are pretty in the know, but I have to be careful, and theres a lot I hear that I wouldn't dare put on here so as not to betray confidences and get folk in bother.

Not sure that's really a stick to beat somebody with, many footballers have business interests.... Matt Jarvis also has an academy.

Don't really see what the point is in trying to create a demon out of Russell Martin.... he didn't sign Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, or gamble our financial security on Naismith and Jarvis, or give that spiv Jez Moxey a job.

Further on from our conversation RE: Russell Martin's popularity and dressing room splits last few years. Just thinking about players you may have expected to see get an invite today.

The obvious one for me was Bassong! Played 5 years with Martin and Wes, and turned out in a Spurs legends game the other week (somehow).

Only other one which makes me wonder is Michael Turner, his season finished Saturday and he's only playing a few miles down the road at Southend - possible bad blood? Could have done with another defender as I don't think Kenton fancied as much football as he got, ha.

Looking at the club and the setup now there's a big gap to what it used to be that's for sure. The influence that Martin used to have would never happen today thank God. Hoolahan was massively under utilised by Hughton, must have been his least enjoyable period at the club and it was then that he wanted the Villa move. In fairness to Alex Neil... Hoolahan played some of his best stuff under him, including the season he got into the champs team of the year.... And Neil wasn't afraid to use him in the Prem.

Can't remember which game it happened after, but I can assure you it was addressed to the fans outside the players entrance, which is why so many of them were pissed off. I have never heard it attributed to 1pswich because it wasn't. If you want me to find out exactly when it was I could, but then again so could you. Perhaps the fact that 'plenty of people talking about it' might show that there is something in it.

I remember he stuck his fingers up at fans driving out of the club car park after the 7-1 defeat against Colchester and apparently some fans tried to tip his car over.

Cried his eyes out when leaving so his ten years here must have meant something to him. Unless he was crying because his he knows it symbolises that his time playing is almost up.
