No to Lampard for me. Hasn't proven himself long enough at one club. He's just a 'name' at this stage whereas I think we need an experienced man at managing players (not necessarily at Premier League level). Plus, he's a Tory.

Also, what makes you think that a multi millionaire, London based playboy is even remotely interested in managing bottom of the league, likely to be relegated, Norwich?
If he's as bad as you say he is, who else would have him?

I get to read people's deleted posts, and Shyster is right, Webber has the media, and most of the fans, on absolute strings here.

Would not be surprised at all if it is none of the favourites.

Not against a woman manager sometime in the future maybe .... but not now and not under the current circumstances. I am a keen follower of women's football and Hayes is the best coach in the WSL and possibly in European club football, but she would not be right for our current predicament. I think I am edging towards a Knutsen appointment. Don't know why but it seems 'right'. But what do I know?

To put the other side of the argument, I am not a fan of women's football, I think it is plain terrible. I watched a bit of the women's world cup last year and it was hilarious just how awful the standard is. So for the same reason we wouldn't pluck a manager out of the Ryman league to manage us, there is no way I would consider a female manager, it is just wokery for the sake of it.

If Emma Hayes wants to prove herself then she should get a job in league 2.

Won't argue with you except to say that I was not advocating a female manager. The standard of women's football in general is obviously not up to the standard of the men's game, but I reckon at top club level it is at League 2 standard now and can only get better. I enjoy the women's game mainly because it is generally devoid of the hype and theatrics that surround the PL. However, now that SKY and ITV have got their hands on it I'm sure that will follow. Re the Women's World Cup .... some of the group games were dreadful, but I thought it was mostly pretty decent and entertaining.

Let me clarify for you. People calling for Emma Hayes to be our manager, just because she is a woman, but totally ignoring the fact that she does not manage at the level we require = "Wokery just for the sake of it".
That's fair enough my friend, and I agree with your opinion. Just not a fan of these lazy right wing buzzwords that litter the internet these days :)

I meant to ask ..... what is 'wokery'?
People having opinions so as to appear progressive and "right on", rather than their opinion having actual validity set in logic. So saying it would be "nice" that we have a female manager, for the sake of diversity and inclusion, when you know full well she is nowhere near the standard actually required, is a fine example.

Another example was when Hughton was sacked recently, there was an article implying that he was sacked because he was black, and that a white manager would have been given longer, when in fact the reality is that he was sacked because he wasn't good enough.

Woke folk think in these terms, always looking to make issues about "isms".

I looked it up once Numan, and didn't understand the definition, so decided it was an age thing and passed. ;)

Thanks Morty.....................I think:)

Ah, now I understand. I am against racism, homophobia and all kinds of injustice but I am definitely not 'woke'.

I am also, but I accept the realities of the world too, and the logic of situations.

Like I said, that Hughton example gives a good example of the difference, you or I can look at the situation and realise that his sacking was about how terrible his results were, and absolutely nothing to do with what colour he is.
