They obviously lied :D
They have contacts at clubs, agents etc. I can't imagine City saying too much until the process is complete.
But they also can get bits from chatting to Franks relatives for instance, who will know a certain amount of info.
I now read it could be early next week before an announcement.

Dean Smith isn't at Carrow road, he is in America! Like I said before, all these news outlets don't know anything, and are just guessing! Webber has us all on strings!

To throw another Topic into the mix:-

A certain Director of Football was due to have his contract situation sorted out during this international break.
He obviously had originally said he was going to leave once the contract expired, but then started to suggest otherwise.
With all the managerial merrygoround happening maybe Stuart's situation won't be finalised yet?
Or maybe it has already and hasn't been announced yet?
It's a strange situation to hire a new manager when said manager wouldn't know who the DOF will be.

I heard from a few, unreliable sources that it is sorted. Perhaps he just wants to concentrate on getting the new manager in.

It makes sense that his contract is sorted first before employing a new manager.
So the next question is.....
Will the club tease us with an announcement about Webber first, when everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting to hear about a manager?
That'd be cruel.

I think his contract will be announced, quietly, after the new manager is announced. He has always, very much, downplayed his situation.

Somebody messaged me this morning telling me Webber was flying to Dubai, and made the assumption that he was going to talk to Steve Bruce, but I have seen a counter rumour that he has flown there to talk to Frank.
There were reports yesterday that Lampard had gone to Dubai to watch the T20 finals........................still don't want him.

I think it is looking more and more likely.

My initial reticence was based around why does Frank want to come here? Also I was operating under the assumption that he isn't the kind of manager that Webber would look at, but on further thought this could be part of the evolution process. Daniel Farke got us to where we are now, and Frank takes us forward to the next level of being a proper, grown up, Premier league side, not little old Norwich.

I still have reservations about Frank's record, but trust Webber if he thinks this is what we need.

Whereas I have reservations about Lampard's ability to work under pressure and with a squad of players lacking confidence (and possibly Premier League quality),I am cautiously optimistic about this supposed appointment.

Firstly, our biggest problem this season for me has been our midfield. There has been a real lack of creativity, which has caused us to just lump it up front from deep. I will counter this by saying that Normann has looked very creative and able to pick a pass. There's also been a lack of synergy meaning we often don't have enough players in the box. Lampard was a master at timing his runs and getting into the box. This kind of experience could be vital in passing onto our midfield players. What mustn't be forgotten is that Lampard the player was one of the very best midfielders of his generation. A useful attribute when coaching midfield players.

Secondly, he has a track record with youngsters. He gave Gilmour his debut (I think). If we can get a tune out of him it would greatly improve the middle of the park. Also, if he can get Cantwell back and firing this would no doubt improve us.

Thirdly, he could be the most high profile appointment in our history. Might give us worldwide exposure. Whereas this might not help us on the pitch immediately, the lure of playing for Lampard could be a valuable thing in terms of our recruitment.

Still, let's see how it goes.

Yep this line. Too often we are thought of as a small time operation. Having Frank Lampard in charge would certainly raise our profile.

Hahaha, this is actually becoming quite funny...

Ah!

I'd thought maybe he was a better option than Smith or Knutsen.
Maybe we're getting a female manager after all......

Perhaps Frank was never interested. Perhaps absolutely everyone is still completely guessing.
Going back to your previous post, I could never see why he would want to come here, neither could I see why his missus would want to come here either. She's very much one for the high life, one reason why she hooked up with him in the first place. I'm pleased, I don't think he'd have fitted at all.
