I don't expect any backlash at all if he leaves, most Norwich fans know his time is up. 

Blokes just not good enough for the Championship now, doesn't mean he wasn't a good right back a few years back. 

Good luck at Rangers if you go there, hope you enjoy your last couple of seasons. Done. 

I feel less about him leaving than say, Jonny Howson or Bradley Johnson. The more I think about it, the more I reckon he got his contract extension purely as cover until we could sign better players. All this "We are keeping him around for his work off the pitch, not necessarily on it" was just blowing smoke up his ar$e a bit. And I feel like the "You'll never play for us again" thing maybe took him by surprise a bit. Which you can either see as treating a club "legend" badly, or being ruthless and putting the club before sentimentality.

Nail on head Canaryboy.  I have an aquaintance who is a business associate of CH, and therefore was privy to quite a bit of inside information when CH was manager.  Your comment about influence etc., apparently due to him being a favourite of our majority shareholder(s), is bang on the money.  Whilst to many he is whiter than white, to others the opposite is the case.  Undoubtedly he has done good work in the community, but there are quite a few from NCFC, past and present, who would be glad to see the back of him for good.

Hogesar................for the record some of us were talking about it some 3 years ago, not just now that's he's probably leaving.  My source is utterly reliable but totally confidential, and what was being passed on wasn't something for a public forum.

I just hope to god that if Jerome leaves we manage to replace with somebody who can bang in a few goals, because our squad is looking skeletal in some positions... especially up front. 

And I think stripping a squad entirely of experience can be dangerous too. I'm a bit worried that we're going from one extreme (almost everybody around 30) to the other (a squad full of kids). 

This is why I quite like the idea of a Chris Martin or similar up front. I suspect his wages are higher than whatever threshold Webber has set, but perhaps a discretionary 'talisman premium' could be applied to one or two? He'd give the fans a bit of a boost too. 

Try before you buy of course, he's had a rubbish 12 months!

Nah not for me, and although I dislike the guy, I would have Lewis Grabban back. I think thats more the type of striker we are looking for, certainly something more mobile than Martin.

Dunno anything about Fletcher other than there were a lot of raised eyebrows when 'Boro paid £6.5m for him in the summer. Haven't seen him play enough to judge him properly though.

Is there a limit to how many loans we're allowed in a season by the way? I thought there was but so far we have Gunn, Reed and Edwards with rumours of Maddison coming back on loan as part of a deal with Spurs and now Ashley Fletcher.

Googled the loan thing yesterday, you can have up to 8 loanees, but only 5 in a game. You can have up to 4 from the same club, but only 2 can be over 23's.

Either Fletcher aint that good or Boro dont see us as threatening at all lol (assuming he did come to us, of course).

Grabban would be good for us, definitely. No way we could or would pay his wages, unfortunately.

My concern about having so many loanees is that if the going gets tough for us this season and we get pulled into a relegation battle, which only really requires injuries to two attacking players to become a near certainty with our current squad... then are they going to care enough to scrap their way out of it? 

Taking talented young players from Premier League clubs isn't really a new thing for us is it.... we had Kieran Gibbs, Alex Pearce, Ched Evans and Ryan Bertrand on loan in the same season (Pearce being very highly rated at the time), Didn't really precede a season of great success.

In fact the next season we had 15 loans over the course of the season and got relegated  :wacko:

I can remember we'd been chasing Alan Gow for a couple of seasons, he was a complete dud when we finally landed him  :lol:

Also, with these loans of talented young players we have zero chance of signing them on a permanent in the summer. I'd be more of a fan of loans if it was players who we had an agreement to sign in the summer for an agreed price if they are success. 

E.g. 6 month loan, £1m in the summer if we want to keep.

Oh yeah the system has to be used properly, and not how Roeder did it. Angus is working out, as is Reed (I have been told we may have an option to buy) Angus I see as a stopgap until Remi takes the slot next season, and that is the right way to do loans.

Naismith set to join Hearts in the next 48 hours according to the daily record, personally I can't see them being able to pay him his full £50k a week so either he's taking a pay cut to go there, or they're only going to be paying a part of, can't really see them paying much more than about £20k a week
