Don't get me wrong I'm not defending anything from the first 3 games (which strangely enough our back 4 hasn't either),but we are only 3 games in. This time last season Ipswich and Sunderland were in the top 6 and Villa were in the bottom 3. Elements of what we've seen are nowhere near good enough but we do have time to resolve them. Maybe we will, maybe we won't but there's no point judging this season and Farke already.

I said before the season, unless we're doing disastrously I'll give Farke and the team 10-12 games, and I stick by that. Big improvements do need to be made no doubt about that.

Paddy Davitt - City not good enough in both penalty boxes.

He's overlooked our midfield efforts me thinks....

Having just watched hi-lights, feeling a bit vague ( maybe the fiery sipping potion ) my question is---Did Lietner have to go for goal solo or could he have passed to one of the other two with him?

Yeah he definitely could have passed, Pukki has a tap in if he just knocks it 3 yards to the left. He was actually a fair way offside and should've let Pukki collect the ball in the first place, not that it mattered.

He never looked confident baring down on goal to be fair, just never seemed to have the ball properly under his control. I remember as well he missed a similar-ish chance in a home game last season, I think to Bolton. It's odd seeing how he's usually so composed on the ball that he really lacks confidence in front of goal. Scoring for us might help him out a lot.

What didn't actually help in the build-up was a woeful pass from Tettey. I know we went through on goal anyway but when the ball eventually comes it's bouncing around all over the place and it falls to Leitner, whereas if Tettey doesn't completely mess up his pass the ball would've been much smoother and to Hernandez, who I'd have much more faith in taking the chance.

Many thanks Din, not sure of offside ruling,so didn't have a clue. In this case, a really bad miss then
