In future away games I'd like to see us drop a striker for Redmond or Wes. The attacking midfielder would obviously be free to roam. The midfield should be silid enough for Redmond to go and play down either flank

Fair play to Adams, we set up very well first half and had we not conceded just before half time I think we could've gone on and won it. Disappointing that Russell Martin should've done better for their first goal. He gave Russell far too much space, and should've been much tighter. Cuellar perhaps should've released the ball earlier than he did, however there was no real way he could know that Chris Martin was behind him. Great to get that equaliser towards the end, and fair play to Whittaker today, who I thought although he struggled to deal with the pace and skill of Ibe, he was much better than he has been. It's almost a bit disappointing that we haven't won today, and out of the two teams I thought we were the most likely to win it. Considering what happened last time we played Derby when it it was 2-2 going into extra time, I was getting very excited If only Jerome had converted that chance at the end, oh well. I said before the game I'd be happy with a point, so overall that is a great result. It would've been a travesty had we lost.

The one criticism I have of today, is that I think the substitution to bring Grabban on for O'Neil was made too early, and I think that didn't help us too much. We were completely on top when that change was made, and Hoolahan had only just come on. I think taking another centre midfielder off left a bit open in the middle, and made it to easy for Derby to retain possession in the middle of the park. I would've waited until about 80 minutes to make that change if we were still 2-1 down. The other 2 substitutions though I thought were the right changes and were made at the right times. Redmond once again had an impact off the bench, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't start at home to Millwall. Wes not so much I didn't think. For us I thought Olsson was superb, and Jerome also caused plenty of problems. The referee was appalling as well. Olsson definitely handballed it and he was right there and couldn't see it. He also made some really strange decisions for both sides throughout. That said though no complaints about Tettey's disallowed goal. Jerome was definitely in an offside position and was interfering with play. Also no complaints about their penalty.

Very happy with the point though overall, it's a very good result away at Derby. Our next 2 games are now Millwall and Reading, 2 'winnable' games. If we can continue our good form, then we could be in a very good position going into the new year.

Hmmm back home and satisfied with the performance we looked more likely to win it at the end.

Not seen a replay of the pen yet but from my view at the other end itlooked like Cuellar was going to play the ball when Martin got in between his leg and the ball... Which isn't a pen. And at the far end late on Olsson was clearly tripped and nearly lost his footing in the box (and lost the ball as a result) but the ref gave nothing. So Derby can count themselves pretty lucky to get a point in my book .

That is what happened, but yes it was a pen. Defenders are always trying to play the ball. He kicked his ankle because he wasn't quick enough. Stonewall.

There was absolutely no way, in any universe, from any referee that it was not a penalty. It's about as much of a penalty as you can get. He literally kicked him.

It was a clear foul. Accidental doesn't count for anything. At all. about 95% of fouls are accidental.

I have no complaints about the penalty award tbh. If exactly the same thing had happened, but Martin was dribbling with the ball and Cuellar went to go kick it out of his feet and kicked Martin instead then it would be a definite penalty, and this is pretty much the same thing.

Also, they showed the replay and the Derby lad doesn't actually touch Olsson. Watching on tele at the time I also thought it was a foul, but it definitely wasn't.

Hmmm, quite like the idea of a Redmond free-role. I hate the idea of him being used restrictively on the left, because (unlike his goal against Southampton suggested) he is not good enough yet to cut in and offer a threat on goal. I feel he is far more useful skinning his opponent on the right flank and crossing in, as he has demonstrated in recent matches. But a free role to give him licence to do both? That might work. Shoot from the left when its on, rinse down the right as standard. In theory could work. Difficulty with a free-role is that the player playing it needs to have excellent decision making, which Redmond doesnt yet have.

System you describe on paper has the potential to be both solid yet creative and suited for counter-attacking. In principle I like it

Also, just my opinion, but I really don't want to see Redmond in a free role. He's too inexperienced for it, and the main complaint with him in his time here has been his decision making. He doesn't need the choice of what to do when picking it up between the midfield and the defence, he needs to be put on the right under instruction to beat his man and cross the ball. That's his job. He's getting better at it too...

Really enjoyed that with fellow UAE Canaries, just like the Snake Pit in pub today.......maybe stretching it a little.

That was another professional performance, we looked disciplined, organised and also just "more together" as a team again today, deserved all three points ...........we should be aiming to be in the top two by the end of January.......

Agree, Dubai, as  I make a point of watching other matches and our intuitive passing is streets ahead other teams in this league. Boro were awful against Ipswich today, who themselves are a hard working team making the most of what they have. You could say the same of teams like Bournemouth and Brentford, but no team has yet managed 2 points per game which is needed for automatic promotion. Keep this unbeaten run going and we could soon be pressing for the top two places.

Penalty looks pretty clear cut to me, as does disallowing our goal, Jerome can be considered to be interfering with play by standing right in front of the keeper. Two good goals. I do wish we still owned Chris Martin though, he's the new Grant Holt!
