He's a good keeper about to get worldwide exposure from playing in the Premier League, Schalke just ensuring they get decent price for him this time next year.
We have a reputation for acquiring players at end of contract or for very little wonga, plus any other clubs who might be impressed by him over next season.

Not sure about it, but if the price is right, it is easy back up. And he wouldn't be coming unless the price was right! I was looking at his wiki, and he has only ever played 6 games in the Prem, for Middlesborough. Considering how prolific he has been in the Championship I'm surprised no one in the Prem has ever taken a punt on him!

On the occasions when he's been called on during last season, he always looked like nicking a goal, he did score a few.
Certainly more so than Sir Benny, who was improving but never really got going. Can't see Benny score in Premier League, Jordan, well if he gets on it wouldn't surprise me if he got a few here and there.

Adam too has shown intent when he's played, can he step up and still score? We seem to have a good support structure for youngsters in the first team so why not.

I would like to see a bit more of Srbeny, to be honest, but I would have thought he is last in the queue, and will either leave, or go on loan somewhere.

Srberny has 2 years on his deal, so we can afford to take a punt on loaning him out for the season to a Barnsley/Rotherham/Wigan and seeing what happens.
Ipswich signed Kieffer Moore for £10k, loaned him to Rotherham where he scored 13 in 22, then sold him to Barnsley for a rumoured £850k.... apparently Barnsley now want £4m for him.
Loan Srbeny out for the season to an English club..... at the end of that year he's either going to be worth a decent Championship fee or an option for us if we get relegated, or he's going to not make an impact and its back to Germany he goes next summer.

Seems like a good lad, but he's had chances at Championship level, can't really see what's suddenly going to change for him to be prolific in the big time.

Surprised to be honest, what happens if Idah does well pre season ? Rhodes or Drmic would be relegated to fourth choice

This past season Pukki and also Krul weren't first choice during preseason but things changed.
Who knows what might happen, difference between world class and lesser players is consistency.
A lower half Premier League player can turn it on sometimes, a world class player does it most weeks.

I'm pretty sure if we paid £2m to loan Rhodes for a season that's still more than Blackburn would get offered by anybody for a permanent transfer, because Championship clubs just can't afford to pay his wages.
£2m loan fee, we pay his wages. At the end of that loan he's a free agent, we can offer him a contract on terms we feel appropriate if he impresses or if we otherwise need him past this season.
Would be a bit disappointed by a 3 year deal, would feel like a Jarvis/Naismith signing.

I suspect Farke knows that he can't get away with the levels of fatigue we saw at times last season and that he's going to need to rotate more, really pushed it at times last season.
Would expect to see plenty of Pukki coming off in the 70th minute if we have a game 3/4 days later, etc.
Also, Pukki can actually play a deeper role and I suspect Idah is a more a 'forward' than a striker and could get minutes out wide against tired legs.
Can't say I really understand the point of Rhodes, but I'm prepared to trust Farke/Webber on that one.... they get most things right.

Yeah it doesn't entirely add up for me either. I felt Rhodes was right for us last season, I don't have the same enthusiasm this time round.

In my head I can just about justify it as a one year thing, we're operating a tight budget and can't afford to drop a big fee on a striker and we want to keep the togetherness. The budget that we do have is needed elsewhere, defensive midfielder and backup right back for example.
But if we finish 17th or above this season we're suddenly going to have money and I'd expect us to be signing some real quality in that position, e.g. Morales from Rangers (although he'll be gone by then, rumoured to be off to Palace, but that sort of level).
Just that it makes zero sense to be on a permanent deal to me, feels unambitious. We'll see what happens!
