Very happy with Byram as back up for Aarons. Always used to sign him for Norwich from Leeds on Fifa haha. No doubting he's a good player just hasn't worked out for him at West Ham for various reasons. 750k though for a good quality back-up right back, can't go wrong.

Think we only really need a defensive midfielder now and we're done. Possibly another winger/attacking midfielder as well, though it would maybe leave us with too many options in those positions. So far though I'm delighted with our recruitment.

I'm pretty sure Byram played semi-reguarly as right winger for Leeds in spells, so could well do a job in that position if needed, you add him to Roberts, Buendia and Hernandez and it looks capable of dealing with the work load to me, so I'd be in no rush to sign another winger

These figures are absolutely plucked out of my arse, but I would have thought 2k a week maximum when he signed his first pro contract? So it could have gone 2k-4k-8k-10k to 30k? As that is about my best guess as to what the best earners are on.

£10k to £30k would sound about right.

A football economist bloke from the university of liverpool reckons our average wage last season was £20k.

Now apparently they all had a 50% salary increase clause.... so that would take the average earner to £30k in the Prem.

Meaning that £30k for Aarons would basically means he's earning the typical Norwich first team wage.

I think we need two more in.

A defensive midfielder to compete with Trybull.... And I still think we could do with another general forward / attacking player who can carry the ball up the pitch. Even if it's a season long loan, e.g Harry Wilson. Just because we have no idea if Cantwell is ready and how few options we had when Buendia was suspended.

Think we are fine for centre backs as long as Hanley stays, can look at it again in January. Heise I believe can be used as an emergency centre back and he's not a midget like Simon Charlton (6 ft I think?).

Anymore than 2 and you start to risk tinkering with the dynamic too much, let's learn from Fulham!

That's what I'd do if I were a Matt Derbyshire though.... Go and become a legend in a lesser league in a sunny country and play a few games in europe if it was that or playing for a Barnsley or Rotherham.

It does seem to be slowly changing... Few in Germany doing well, plus a couple in Norway for that team Graham Potter managed... Got Jay Bothroyd in Japan and Cameron Jerome in Turkey.

The problem is a lot of the young ones really let us down so it wouldn't surprise me if foreign clubs are wary of signing English players.

Dale Jennings got signed by Bayern Munich where he could have learnt from Robben and Ribery but instead didn't bother to learn the language and had crates of Pot Noodles shipped to him (then literally went to Barnsley, haha).

Ravel Morrison at Lazio, Kaylen Hinds went AWOL from Wolfsburg after they pinched him from Arsenal and they sacked him.

Fair play to Trippier for having a go at Spain though... Saw people criticise him for leaving Spurs but despite their quality they simply haven't won anything and with Real Madrid in a state of flux he's got a chance of a uefa cup or domestic cup or something.
