I always sign Henderson and then upgrade to Ward with Norwich, and I doubt Liverpool are in any rush to get rid of Ward now they've established that he's probably the best keeper on their books.
But Henderson has been on loan at Shrewsbury all season, so does make sense if he would be on the radar.
McNair just doesn't feel like a Webber signing because he's probably on big money. I mean... it would make perfect sense to sell Klose and replace with a 23 year old ball playing defender, but its obvious he's going to want to try and significantly reduce the wage bill in the process and McNair won't be on standard Championship wages.

Michael Bailey reporting that us and Leicester have agreed a fee for Maddison, and that the deal will be finalised once Mahrez moves to Manchester City at some point in the next week or so. Also said in the same tweet that we value Maddison at £20m plus so presumably if Leicester do get him it'll mean they matched our valuation.
Obviously we need to sell to buy so to get Maddison out early makes sense. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how this summer unfolds to be fair.
On McNair, pretty sure he's more of a defensive midfielder than a centre back? Brighton have had a 2nd bid rejected of £3.5m anyway and Sunderland apparently want £5m for him which I can't see us paying. Now that Tettey's signed a new deal we really don't need any more centre midfielders, we already have him, Trybull, Godfrey, Vrancic, McLean, Stiepermann and Thompson. As much as I like Harrison Reed I'm not really that keen on him being bought in either as I think its an area that we're sorted in.
As for Henderson or Ward, I'd be pretty pleased with either. I have actually thought about Ward as a Gunn replacement before but assumed Remi Matthews would be taking up that mantle. Seeing as we're now seemingly in the market for a goalkeeper though I'd be very happy with Ward who was excellent for Huddersfield the season before last. I watched the League 1 play-off final the other day as well and Henderson certainly lived up to his reputation as a very good young goalkeeper. Saved a penalty and made a brilliant save in the last minute of normal time. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him here at all but I imagine about half the Championship will be interested.
Some good news as well, Marley Watkins set to leave this summer, to either Bristol City or Wigan. Very, very happy with that Now only Martin, Naismith, Jarvis, McGovern, Husband and Oliveira to go!

McNair can play centre midfield or centre back I think.
Just googled though and there is an article where McNair is moaning that Louis Van Gaal played him as a centre back and that he is actually a midfielder.
He may look back with a sense of perspective now that he's technically a league one player... moaning about playing out of position for one of the biggest clubs in the world compared with the season he just spent at a basket case club

Only thing I can think of is that he was identified as a 'bad egg' or something, disrupting the dressing room. Because he was supposed to have bags of talent.
And the bit where he's working hard at Rangers could be him realising that he hadn't "made it" because people had previously blown too much smoke up his backside?
I'd sort of assumed that Middleton wanted to go to Glasgow or that they'd thrown a decent fee at us (e.g. half a million?).

As a player he reminds me of Anthony Pilkington, defo Championship quality.
Farke doesn't fancy Wildschut does he so would make sense.
