Have seen a few people on Twitter complaining a bit that we won't get all the money up front, not that that is how it works anyway! But knowing the money is coming gives us the ability to plan our budget for the next few years. Word on the street is that we should hopefully see a few coming in soon. I am not thinking there is anything in the Ben Godfrey rumours.

I'm not complaining but transfers do happen when the money comes upfront.

It's a negotiating point, eg "You can have £18m in your account now or £25m in instalments over the next 5 years".

I shouldn't imagine that many do, but like I say, it helps us map things out for the next few years, and matters not really, as it's not as if we were going to rush out and spend it all!

Approx 10% goes to Coventry, I am lead to believe.

I'd currently choose Leicester over Southampton too, wise choice if true.

Who wants to play for Mark Hughes, they are out of their golden age now. Their academy conveyor belt has stopped churning out gems and they will be in another relegation scrap.

Leicester have got a decent squad, although they are over reliant on Jamie Vardy for goals and a long term injury to him and they'd be bang average too.

Just hope we've got a sell on clause because one great season for Leicester and he's suddenly a £50m player in this market.

Its part of the reason we are in a pickle, still owing money on players we'd signed.

I believe we agreed to pay for Pritchard in installments, so presumably when we sold him we had to settle the bill with Spurs and you aren't left with much after the agent and taxman has had their cut.

If we've paid for Naismith with similar terms then Everton will be getting their final lump sum this summer, that hurts!

I keep seeing people adding up all the fees received and then saying "where is all the money going", but you have to wonder whether we were actually even left with anything from the Pritchard sale. More like it just reduced our liabilities for the next couple of seasons by paying back Spurs

From that fee we had to pay Spurs the balance (probably),then there's probably a cut for an agent somewhere (often a club uses an agent to negotiate a transfer!),an outstanding loyalty bonus (player has to submit a written transfer request to lose that, which of course they never do),then VAT passed on to HMRC (yes, that's owed on transfer fees!).

Selling Pritchard probably left us with nothing much at all for the transfer pot, just helped our cashflow going forward as we presumably still owed 66% of the purchase cost to Spurs + his wages + 66% of his loyalty bonus?

Similar when we sold Robbie Brady actually. With £13m in and £7m out again for Wildschut, have to wonder whether we actually lost money on that deal by the time we finish paying for Wildschut and everybody has had their cut.

The transfers of the Murphy twins are probably the most profitable of our big ticket departures over the past couple of seasons, because we didn't owe anybody any money and their wages were probably more modest than Brady's & Pritchards (so loyalty bonuses would be lower too?).

Would be nice if we could just negotiate a deal with Coventry to settle any clauses which will still exist after he's left to be honest... throw them their 10% + another million to settle the matter? Whilst they need the money?

I guess the money, as it drips in, means as much to their future as it does ours. Bit of a risk on our part, Maddison has never played in the Prem, he might be shite

Whether he'll fit into the England squad or not is a different question, looking at how they played tonight and he doesn't fit into that at all.... forgot how ugly our style of football is, we don't really do patient passing football and advanced playmakers do we

But you look at someone like Mark Noble who never gets a cap, but he's a quality player and definite Premier League quality... and Ian Crook a playmaker who never got one. Le Tissier less than 10 I think. Meanwhile Nicky Butt retires with 39

Maddison will probably retire wishing that he was born half Dutch or Portuguese.
