The whingeing, epitomized by " Westimonial" has reached ridiculous levels. Anyone with quarter of a braincell can see why we are doing what we are doing right now, and they want clarity, honesty and openness, but blub when they get it.

Football fans are fickle so he'd soon be the best thing since sliced bread if we start well next season and find ourselves in the play-off places.
But I can see how he has rubbed people up the wrong way and I think he needs some media training personally.
The fans have collectively just bailed the club out.... and 50 miles down the road there is a club which is dying on its arse. If we get 5 years of mediocrity and our attendances start falling then flippant comments like that will be remembered for eternity like the immortal "missed your tenure as England manager" comment from Roeder.
Needs a lesson in diplomacy and tact.
Its hardly surprising that people have been rubbed up the wrong way when he points out that the play offs are still a possibility when we were 13th with 7 games to go having won 1 in 9...... not surprising that fans suddenly start to question whether their on the same page as Webber. That was my takeaway from the whole interview.
I think he should be docked one week annual leave and sent to do a Level 2 certificate in public relations.
Line he should have taken is something more along the lines of "I understand the frustrations of fans because its been an up and down season, but I think after another full pre-season these kids and overseas players will come back stronger next year and with a few quality additions could be right in the mix".
Then fans are thinking about and talking about the summer transfer window for the next 7 games instead of about how shit we are.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what he's saying but he didn't caveat it particularly well.
Yes, first half against Bolton we were very good in my opinion. But there's been lots of games where we've been very poor, and it's the culmination of them which results in fans then not seeing the Bolton performance as good, particularly when we don't get a win from it.
I've enjoyed some of the home games this season that other's haven't but I can completely understand those who haven't. We've been really, really lacking in goals and at the end of the day that's what matters.
And that's the crux too - the playing style doesn't matter. People are bemoaning it but it's only because we've not scored goals. Had we taken 3 of our chances against Bolton we'd have everyone calling that the blue print for how we need to play. Likewise if we hoof it to Oliviera and Srbeny for 90 minutes next week but win 3-0 that'll be how we should play. But it's understandable that people will criticise with our current goal tally.

Morty and Canaryboy just about some things up nicely, we are a fickle bunch, I believe that some (a lot) patience is required, acknowledge and accept that we are in the process of change.
However, I also fully understand why some supporters are getting very frustrated and are having a whinge, as the bottom line is, that this new management whilst having clearly a huge job to do and whilst they are clearly making some progress, have also made some very obvious errors too.
For me, even with the changes going on we should actually being doing better with the players that have been on the books during this time, and as I have mentioned before the failure to secure a proven striker or two in January (even on loan), if they did truly believe there was chance to scrape in to a play off place was basically criminal...........particularly as it was so clear that very little in terms of goals would come from the sulking headless chicken Nelson Oliveira.
On a positive note, Srebny does look like a player with promise and I am sure he will prosper from a full pre season like many of the new signings will, most of whom I feel are decent additions to our new squad going forward, while we worry about Husband and Watkins we tend to forget about Hanley, Trybull, Hernandez, Leitner, and an improving Vrancic for example, so not all doom and gloom.... particulalry when considering the youngsters who will be coming back in to the fold too.
As for Webber himself, if ever there was someone who needs media training, then its him......the club has never really done PR and communications well, and with this guy they have taken several steps back, and in his position he needs to be an expert in communicating a message .........Farke does OK most of the time as he has a more personable personality.

Can't say I'm too bothered about what he said. It always comes down to results on the pitch and at the moment we aren't getting them so anything he says is likely to be picked at - especially if it is a bit controversial in nature.
Anyone can come in and say Colney needs a freshen up. Anyone can come in and say the scouting system could be improved. But not anyone can come in and put a successful team on the pitch.
In football these days you generally get the first season as a free hit (unless it's a huge disaster) and after that you have to start showing signs of improvement and progress. Significant ones too. Otherwise patience wears thin and almost nobody will care that there are a couple of youngsters in the team and that they have new treadmills and showers at Colney if we have faded into midtable obscurity - or worse.

I think its quite telling that in response to fans that are unhappy with the football we are playing he has to go back in time 6 weeks to find a good 45 minutes of football as a counter argument personally. Especially as Bolton are a shit team and we still couldn't beat them.
Although I think the international break does funny things to people... add losing a game either side of it.... heightened sensitivity levels (of both fans plus club employees, like Webber).

I'll pitch in here because a lot of this from the Q&A at the Trust AGM where he was asked about Wes having a testimonial and basically gave the explanation he gave in the interview. When our secretary put some brief notes on our website in response to people who didn't go he only mentioned that Wes was getting a testimonial this season as his future is still being discussed. This was seized upon by Rob Butler (who wasn't at the AGM) as being the Club refusing Wes a Testimonial. Despite me pointing out what had actually been said he decided to put a post on FB with an inflamatory headline and the rest is history. Still, I'm sure that the ratings for Canary Call were up yesterday.
For the record, he also said that he and Farke realised that the football "has been a hard watch this season" and that "fans have been very patient". However, he also pointed out that the players were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere at Carrow Road and that, given that most were young and some in their first season in England, this wasn't helping.
For anyone who's interested here's the synopsis which is now expanded on the Wes question but only an overview on other points so if anyone finds anything else to get offended about can I suggest that they ask me for more detail before getting too upset!

Atmosphere is crap at most grounds in England though.
In Germany you can drink beer whilst watching the game, and in the UK we've got the stewards telling people to sit down all the time.
A few clubs have got their "ultras" areas... like Palace... not sure Webber can expect this problem to just fix itself.
Bit of a chicken and egg situation... do we need atmosphere to get success, or success to get an atmosphere?
