Neither did Todd Cantwell, or to some respects Maddison, before they did. I guess we just have to trust Webber's judgement. To be fair, there aren't many of our young players that we have released that I would consider ones that got away. A lot do go on to have good careers but we rarely get it massively wrong.

Sinani was a free hit, cost only the paperwork etc. If he had made the step up, then good. Not a failure by any means, we've had loan fees, he is playing football at a higher level, and will surely keep playing and putting bread on his table. Good luck to the man, especially when you consider the fees paid, loan or otherwise, who were crap

The other thing is that there are times when we go a bit “ wheeler dealers” and get a player in pretty much with the view of selling them on at a profit, part of the self funding model. If they turn out to be good enough for the first team squad then great, but move them on for a decent profit.

There has been a lot of talk about switching to 3 centre backs, which kind of makes the CDM position a bit redundant. But it would be good to have a bit of flexibility, Farke was robbed of being able to make tactical changes last time, due to just not having the players to do it.

I would love him back here.

It's not just the season ticket problem, it's also the fact the none of them have the quality for the league they are about to play in.

I don't think it's fair to write them all off, but obviously we don't know how they're going to do.
Having quality brought in obviously is going to help, but it's only a couple of weeks til Liverpool, the squad should have been sorted before now.

tbh Byram can't stay fit, I don't believe Zimm nor Plachetta are of PL standard, the latter proved nothing last season. The only question mark realistically is against Sorensen.

I can't even keep up with everything that is (allegedly) going on just now, to the point where I have stopped trying to follow it.

We might be getting Brandon Williams on loan from Man Utd (for a hefty loan fee) who can cover both full back slots, but is primarily a left back. I wonder if this is maybe linked to how well Byram's recovery is going?

The Greek wonderkid feels like we are being taken for patsies, we are just being used to fluff up the price. It feels like so many situations before where we are used as part of a bidding war, then he goes somewhere else.

Chris Sutton backs Adam Idah to challenge Teemu Pukki this season, so sounds like we may not be getting another striker through the door.

Allegedly being the right word imo.
Cannot for the life of me see the sense in Sutton's support of Idah being Pukki's challenger this season. Surely he needs to go on loan, he has nowhere near the minutes to be chucked straight into the PL.
I don't believe in wonderkids, they come up once in a blue moon and last time I looked the moon wasn't blue.
As for Byram, when he played in the preseason he did a hamstring, out for 2 weeks at least. Do they really think he will ever be fit?
I'm beginning to wonder if there are any imminent incomings.
