Trumps Speech

We're getting the same shit here for our Presidential election. Tic Toc rage funded by putin, stirring up the shit wherever he can.
Old Donald certainly came out swinging there, certainly hope he's successful in the long run
You don’t believe Putin indulges in malevolent disinformation in western countries?

You seem very intent on branding anyone with a different political opinion either insane or stupid?

Have you considered that the majority of America voted for him because they like the sound of his policies?
I’ve avoided it for years, but we’re at the point where it’s so obvious that these are bad actors it’s hard to find a way around it.

And what about his policies? Last time he delivered little of what he said. The rust belt was still ignored, no wall was built… Much like Farage, he’s big on fuelling grievances to curry support, but small on solutions.

Voting is about going for who you hate the least sometimes.

Harris was fucking awful. And the Democrats turned America into exactly what the Labour party are turning Britain into.

Do you actually believe Trump’s assertions that 2020 was rigged by the Democrats against the sitting President while he was inciting the Capitol attacks? I’m just trying to understand how anyone could think a politician in power in a democratic system who impugns the system when he doesn’t get his way can be a good thing for a democratic nation?

I think there are voting irregularities that you would be stupid to ignore.

He didn't incite the riots.

So why wasn’t it rigged again this time then? Maybe I’m missing something here, but wouldn’t it be easier to rig an election when you’re actually in power?

And he did incite the riots. And there’s a state judgement in Colorado that backs that. But that doesn’t matter because Tucker Carlson is the fount of all truth supposedly, in spite of him getting away with slander on the defence that everyone knows he spouts crap.

And now we’ve got the billionaire power behind the Trump throne throwing out Nazi salutes at the inauguration just for a laugh to see just how unaccountable he really is.

Of even more interest was the long line of multi-billionaire American business men at the Trump inauguration, who will no doubt be rewarded with all their regulatory wishes domestically and every foreign policy trick the Trump administration can employ to advantage them elsewhere in return for their sycophancy.

Welcome to the age of oligarchy, folks.

What ? Do I believe my own eyes? Err, yes. Same as I believed my own ears when Trump was talking about researching ingesting disinfectant to cure viruses.

As for Taylor Swift, if she’s a Nazi then it’s mitigated by her not being part of the new government of the world’s only
democratic superpower upon which we all depend.
And why are you paranoid about Gates and Soros? What makes them untrustworthy over the ones bending over for Trump? Why have all the Trump lot made such a fuss about them when apparently all they wanted was to have energy more influence for billionaires anyway?

lyb. I don't know who you are, or where you live, if your reply to my post was tongue in the cheek, or sarcastic, but you certainly don't live out here on the borders with Ucraine and Moldova

Not near Iasi, are you? Or Suceava? Iasi is one of those cities I wanted to visit but the pandemic got in the way after I'd signed up for the half-marathon there, and then when Putin kicked off in Ukraine my friend over there said Iasi was very full of Ukrainian refugees and advised against rocking up and running it.

TGS An hour down the road. It's a good visit, sprawling, not compact. University place, lots of good things to see and do. Transport system quite good, plus airport only about 5 kms outside city. Haven't had or seen any problems with the refugees, they seem to use it as a stopping off place.
Will be in Suceava for a few days near the end of February, my good lady has her birthday then so a few days in a pampering spa place.
As an aside, in November coming back from Bulgaria, we stopped in a small hotel outside Galati. With other guests, we dined on the outside restaurant, and watched putins lot attacking the grain depots across the river with their drones, also the mobile phones were on the Ucraina air waves

Heh, not made it to Romania yet, the last new country I clocked a half-marathon in was Kosovo in September last year when I ran in Prishtina. Iasi is one I've had my eyes on, although I could be persuaded to look at Timisoara or maybe even Bucharest. Sighisoara and Sibiu are probably too hilly for it to be fun, although any city half-marathon with a UNESCO-listed centre or a race in an area of natural beauty is often one that gets my interest.

Trump's speech was one of the most beautiful orations I have ever heard. a promise to turn the country back onto the path of common sense. To get rid of DEI, end the mutilation of kids, stamp out Marxist infiltration into the education system, close the border to illegal immigration and deport the illegals to name just a few policies. exactly what we should be doing in this country.

While pardoning criminals, Trump has taken away security service protection of former public servants, Mike Pompeo in particular, who are known targets of countries like Iran. Also Anthony Fauci, who Trump himself made a scapegoat and a target of death threats.

The idol worship of such a spiteful, vindictive man mystifies me.
