I can just see the headlines now as Norwich City are gunned down by Chris Hughton's free-scoring Fulham side.  In the face of Fulham's no nonsense, in your face, relentlessly gung-ho style of attacking football, Norwich City's defence was akin to that film with Michael Caine at Rourke's Drift only without anyone actually being killed.  Norwich couldn't get out of their own half as time and again Hughton's men, roared on by a crowd who had been whipped into hysteria by a Colin Calderwood pre-match motivational speech, battered the Canary defence from first minute to last with a masterclass of positive, aggressive and direct attacking play.  The scorer of the sixth goal, Mark Fotheringham, who dribbled round nine Norwich players before flicking the ball over his head and into the net for a nailed-on goal of the season contender, spoke afterwards about the changes at the club.

"Och, wee Chris and the lads have been great," said the largely useless journeyman midfielder. "Our confidence is at an all time high, we're encouraged to play with freedom and flair and we don't worry about conceding goals because we'll score more than the other team so, frankly, we don't give a toss.  Wee Caldy (Calderwood), he's a proper laugh in training and all, last week he dressed up a blow-up doll as Mohammed Al-Fayed."

The interview was then abandoned because of unicorns on the pitch.

Fulham 6 - 0 Norwich City

Yeah, no doubt we'll lose against Fulham. As per usual.

This thread came up about a month ago and I said we'd be shocked at home by Charlton. Let's hope I was wrong or we'll be disappointed come Tuesday.

At least if we lose to Fulham we'll probably go on to thrash Leeds three days later.

I think it will last forever, we're never going to lose again. We've sussed this football lark.

I agree, Charlton could definitely be a banana skin.   A really underrated side who are starting to find some form.

Found it from day one, they are unbeaten this season. Only other unbeaten team is Forest.

It would be nice if we could score first for once and force the away team to throw caution to the wind. After dropping points at home to Birmingham we really need to be winning this game, we can't keep banking on being able to score two or three goals in the second half. We got away with it against Birmingham (although I still consider it two points lost).

Charlton are probably more adept at defending a lead.

Yes, we have a history of charity, of feeling sorry for clubs with a poor recent record. Some of us perhaps feared that it was going to be another example, when Blackpool scored first.

We currently have a much better record away from home. I can't remember the last time this was true. It's great that when we go behind we pick up our game.

I have no idea when we shall next lose. We are still misplacing passes and not marking attackers as we should, so it could be when we are generous to one of the leading teams who can repulse our attacks. Or it could be a referee decision, or a couple of deflected goals like those we scored at Blackpool.

Yes, you can't legislate for luck or the odd referee decision (and many of them are 'odd') letting us down. Charlton could be a tricky tie as they seem a well organised bunch.
