Lacking some creativity in midfield. Not sure Dele has been bringing enough to the party.

Kane hasn't looked sharp in the last couple of games and it was worrying how far away he was from the Croatia penalty box. Made it too easy for them.

As did taking off Sterling. He was clearly the one they were most worried about.

There's no doubt it's a missed opportunity. The game was there for the taking in the first half. But it's still a massive step forward.

Thought the midfield was unbalanced and Rashford brought nothing to the party. Too much hoofball second half. Agree with GJP re Kane, had the odd moment, but wasn't up to much last night. Having said all that we'd have taken a semi final place 2 weeks ago, so well done to them.

I don't need to see anyone else referring to Croatia as "dark horses" etc. They all play for big clubs, some play for massive clubs. And that group has been around the block a few times in international football.

Yeah it's one of them things that shouldn't annoy you but it really does. For the last 3 years I've shared a house with 2 lads and 2 girls, and me and the 2 guys are obsessed with football and have been all our lives, and in our house football was pretty much continuously on, whether it be league games, Champions League, Europa League whatever. At times I'd be watching Norwich on my laptop, my mate who supports Arsenal would be watching them on his laptop, and my other mate who supports Villa would be watching them on the TV (Villa got TV priority because apparently they were the only club out of the 3 who weren't doing shit, which ended well ). But yeah the 2 girls we lived which pretty much non-stop for 3 have told us how shit football is, how we're sad for constantly watching and talking about it, to the point that it has genuinely caused arguments in our house. But anyway for the England - Colombia game me and my mates decided to chill at home and watch it, when suddenly the girls come in asking which pub we're going to to watch it, saying how buzzing they are for the game etc, and when we asked them why they care because they've literally spent the last 3 years whinging about how boring football is, the response was "Yeah but you three watch shit football, whereas this is actually good football". I was literally speechless haha. I then have to watch them sing It's Coming Home at the final whistle as well. Infuriating

My missus is actually alright in the sense that she's always liked football. Not to the extent that she'd start supporting a team or whatever but she enjoys watching it and was looking forward to the world cup for a while. That said though, she like loads of other people became a football super fan overnight and in some of the conversations we've had since I couldn't help but laugh. Don't get me wrong I'm glad she enjoys football but I can't deal with her actually trying to sort seriously about tactics or whatever.

That all said I am taking her to her first Norwich game when we play West Brom, as my dad can't go so she's having his season ticket for the game. So if we win and then she suddenly buys a season ticket, a shirt, signs up to this forum and starts joining in the Russell Martin debate, then I'm done.

Ultimately what people were saying before the tournament about a lack of creativity/ball players in midfield proved to be the downfall.
