Be interesting if he can force himself into the starting eleven more times than not next season. Newcastle's transfers so far haven't significantly improved their starting eleven in my book. Remains to be seen if Jacob can; hope he does.

Indeed, its a huge step up, he's going to have to work hard to raise his game.

I think if he replicates his form last season he could easily go somewhere for 25 or 30 million.

Exactly. Even if not a starter he would strengthen any team in this division . 

I doubt too many defenders at this level look forward to defending against him.

If its true that Forest are willing to pay £6m for him then I suspect he'll be off. 

That's a lot of money for a striker who is 31 next month and relies on being mobile to play his natural game. 

I think he's a brilliant player at this level, but judging my the transfer policy we've seen so far... I'd bet on us snapping their arm off for £6m.

I think in any other area of the pitch then £6m for a player who is soon to be 31 is good business.

But not for one who has a good chance of getting you 15+ goals.

If Webber and Farke know of some player from overseas for £3m that they think is as good or better than Jerome then £6m is a great price. 

If we have to replace domestically then strikers premium kicks in and you have to remember that a 34 year old Daryl Murphy is allegedly worth £3m. 

I think if we sold Cameron Jerome to Middlesbrough then that will show that we aren't competing for promotion this season, Boro will see £6m as good business if he scores just 15 goals for them and leads them up... they aren't looking past one season are they, they don't care what he's worth in a year as long as he helps them back to the promise land. 

Who do we replace him with? Baring in mind that James Vaughan, Ian Henderson and an ageing Steve Morison were all in the top 10 goalscorers in League One last season, seems to be a bit of a shortage of players 'on the up' in that position which is why clubs are prepared to do silly things like pay £6m for Cameron Jerome.

I like Kenneth Zohore at Cardiff, but how much are they going to want for him? Crazy money for Championship strikers these days. I can't help but think that we should have been the team who took a punt on Jason Cumming this season, but signings from Scotland always seem to be like a flip of a coin.

Silly, almost certainly untrue rumour that we're looking at bringing back Snodgrass. Now I don't believe it for a second, I don't think we'd be able to afford his wages and even then I'm not sure he'd want to come.

But absolutely hypothetically, if the money was right and the deal was doable, would you have him back?

I say yes, he's a quality player and he'd improve the squad dramatically.
