If we keep CJ and Oliveira we've also got Watkins who can do a job upfront.

Ah right, fair enough, I thought he was more "Can play anywhere across the midfield, and as striker if required".

Interestingly wikipedia now has him as a 'striker' too, presumably they have some sort of methodology in place to decide how to label people, based on appearances I'm guessing... they previously had him down as a 'forward'. 

I think he can play out wide and behind the striker in the same way that Pritchard can play right wing and Naismith can play left wing.... will do a job, but not ideal.

Watkins was our Lafferty replacement.

Trouble is if his head has been turned, we're snookered. Its inevitable that he is going to go on to bigger things at some point, and I would have liked to have seen him stay this season, but we have cover in the position, and 10 million would mean that we can fully restructure the rest of the squad. 

And really this is the entire purpose of having a Cat 1 academy I suppose.
