Well he's left footed, but probably not.
According to transfermarkt the two highest valued left backs without a club are Julian Palmieri (30) and Benoit Tremoulinas (31). Never heard of either of them, but apparently the former played for Lille last season and the latter for Seville, so may be passable?
A name I do recognise is Reto Ziegler who used to play for Spurs when he was young. Good CV but no idea whether he's 'spent', last two years playing in the Swiss league which is probably similar to the Scottish Prem (a couple of good sides, the rest League One / League Two standard?)..
Pretty depressing that I'm looking at players I know nothing at all about, but unless Husband or that new tall German proves adequate at left wing back... then desperate times call for desperate measures?

It really would feel like Bryan Gunn all over again if we sign some randomer based on transfermarkt.com value, a five year old YouTube video and rating the exotic-ness of their name on a scale of 1 to 10. That's probably the methodology which landed us footballing gods like Goran Maric, Jens Berthal Askou and that Clitoris chap in goal.

If Farke thinks Husband and Steipermann are good enough then one of them will play there, such a shame Lewis picked up his injury when he did.

Might be a blessing in disguise not to throw Lewis into the deep end like that, probably best that he comes into a more settled team.
Personally I suspect that Husband is a semi-capable left back, but we aren't really playing left backs are we.... we're playing wing backs, and they have to cover much more ground and would ideally have the pace to beat a man. Imagine Olsson in this system, that's a wing back.
Adam Drury had a very simple job which he did with consistency over a long period of time, but that's because we didn't try and make him play like Roberto Carlos.
Ironic that Robbie Brady was an average left winger and an average left back but probably had the perfect mix of a 'bit of both' to play as a wing back in a system like this. Its almost as if our last three left backs would have been better in this system than they were in a flat back 4, and when we go and adopt a wing back formation we flip 180 and sign one who isn't suited to that role at all

I mean it's not as if McCormack hasn't been a good player at this level in the past but he's just weighed down by his pockets.
