Its not about annoying anyone, contrary to some peoples opinion, there is no censorship here, but I think you start these threads to be deliberately provocative, knowing full well the reaction that they will get. Now if you think we have had a bad transfer window, then there are plenty of threads where this is already under discussion.

I would like to think that this forum can remain a place for sensible, reasoned discussion, even if people don't neccessarily agree with how it comes about. So, no, I won't lock the thread, if people want to discuss your theory that the owners and board are so ashamed that they have gone into hiding, then this is the thread to do it.

Personally speaking, I think it has been a good transfer window overall, but one sadly distorted by the final day confusion. BJ leaving was a shock to many, including myself, but I can understand that he could see the future changing after the addition of Brady and at 28, the offer of a 4 year contract gave him security for the final years of his career as well as a windfall of around half a million pounds.

Many fans, including myself, would like to know why we didn't sign a 4th CB. Does AN consider that Wisdom is sufficient cover for that role? If so, then fine just say so. Although I have some concerns, particularly about the CB situation and about the Grabban situation as well, I feel that these could be resolved by AN or McNally explaing the situation so that we can all move on. What do you want them to say? They bid on targets and didn't get them. There is no ridiculous conspiracy theory here.

Sorry, Morty, you seem bent on distorting everything I say. Yes I do think that any club has an obligation to communicate with it's fans, but that doesn't mean all the 'finer details', as you put it. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but they will occur in the absence of communication. Have a look at the other threads on this Board that are spawned by uncertainty in people's minds. Like others, I would like to know whether AN feels we have sufficient defensive cover. If so fine, but I have no idea of how effective Wisdom can be at CB, for example. That's an uncertainty that could easily be resolved by a simple communication. There are others, but I'm not going to go through them all again. Wiz may have put it badly, but there are questions in people's minds.

IMO, it's the lack of communication that fosters that sort of doubt in people's minds and that is not constructive for the club or its fans.

In the end, I feel there is a total lack of communication with you as well, so I won't be going on futher - there doesn't seem to be any point in doing so.

Wisdom, like Martin, prefers to play centre-back, even though others prefer to see him at right-back.

My only concern with Wisdom as 4th centre-back is that he cant be a fourth centre-back if he is also being 1st or second right-back. If he successfully displaces Whittaker, as we might see in the next few weeks, he cant be pressing the centre-backs. Should we need to drop or replace Bassong or Martin and Wisdom is in the team, unless its Ryan Bennett you need to move Wisdom out of a position he's presumably doing well in and let Whittaker in by default.

He's talked about Elliott Bennett being a right back but will he realistically be challenging Whittaker.

I just dont think you can use Wisdom twice. He's either competition for Whittaker, or for a centre-back. I dont really see how he can be both. Versatility is good and gives you options, but you shouldnt have to rely on it.

Lets call Wisdom a centre-back for the sake of argument. We have 4 centre-backs for 2 positions. Thats ok. But then I worry that Olsson and Whittaker are effectively first choice by default as neither Toffolo or Elliott Bennett are considered to be of the same standard in that position

That is exactly the sort of attitude that I think could be eliminated through effective communication, Keiran and I know all too well what a troll Wiz has been on the PinkUn board and on here at times as well. It's curious that Wiz has put the same post on the PinkUn board and it has provoked a constructive discussion, which hopefully I now see GMD may have fostered here.
