It always seemed like a desperation signing by them in the first place. Transfer fee looks very nice but assume he's on mega bucks (by our standards) with them.

Superb signing that is if it comes off. Hugill, Pukki and Idah, what a strikeforce for this league. Gives us that Jordan Rhodes type physical option that we desperately missed last season. £2.5m plus add ons is a steal.
If we can round this window off by signing Ben Gibson, I’ll be delighted with our business this summer. To do it all so quickly is impressive too.

A 28 year old striker who doesn't score many goals. Yes he's experienced in the Championship, no - he's not prolific and no - he's not good enough to play in the Premier League.

He scored 15 goals last season. I think a strike force of him, Pukki and Idah will be pretty good. And I would venture he is better than Drmic.

Not a problem for me. The guy admits that he is a big physical person, hard to knock off the ball and scores and assists. He knows that he is not the main man. He is eager to get going. What's not to like.? No 9 Neymar and Mbappe were not very good last night. We are not a rich club, why don't you for once, support NCFC instead of finding fault with everything NCFC

A bit of a cliche but I imagine Hugill's role in this squad will be the 'Jordan Rhodes' role, in that he's essentially here to offer us something different to what our other strikers do, if we're say 15 minutes from the end of a game and looking for a winning goal. I wouldn't have thought he's been bought in to be first choice striker ahead of Pukki or even Idah.
I would say that to have a 3rd choice striker who has just scored 15 goals in this league at a mid-table club is pretty encouraging. I really like this signing personally.

Bit of trivia, Jordan Rhodes was originally going to be our main striker, with Pukki in the secondary / no 10 role.

Had the same conversation with a mate at work, could be we play 442 in some games too. Let’s also not forget that Pukki needs to get some form going or he will be the late sub coming on.

We certainly have a few more out and out wingers, and a stronger central midfield option, so 4-4-2 isn't out of the question. If we can actually keep 3 CB's fit, we could even stretch to 3-5-2!

Having the two wingers makes me wonder whether our full backs will be needed to play quite so high up the pitch quite so much. In theory this could help the goals against. Will be interesting as it seems we may be tweeking the way we play while still trying to control the ball.
