Its a bit sad really that this could be the end of derby day for a generation or more.

Although hilarious if they fail to beat us in the return tie..... there will end up being 25 year olds who weren't alive when they last beat us.

I can't see how Ipswich will get back out of League One.... they will get League One gates in League One, so why are they any more attractive to an investor than Peterborough, Bradford, Coventry, Charlton, or even Plymouth?

Are Ipswich actually any bigger than any of those clubs? Will they get any more than the 8000 to 10000 that Doncaster get in League One?

Perhaps they are a Rotherham or Barnsley and can yo-yo or something, but Charlton are actually a bigger club than those and can't get out of that league.

We'd just be crossing our fingers that we get them in the League Cup each season?

I actually feel somewhat bad for Paul Hurst, he's been thrown in at the deep end with no money and a very poor squad that most managers would struggle to keep up, not to mention he's had to follow one of the most experienced managers in the country who's done miracles to achieve what he did at portman road

as for the club and the fans, I don't feel quite so bad for them

But I doubt they are net spenders after selling Garner and Waghorn, plus they lost McGoldrick on a free who has 4 goals for Sheffield United this season!

That's why Mick McCarthy was so under rated, managed to keep them in this league on peanuts.... paid about £1m in total on Waghorn and Garner, spent nothing on transfers for 2 years before that.

Operating on a League One budget was only ever going to lead them in one direction, McCarthy just managed to delay the inevitable for a few years.

Does look like his two strikers from League One just aren't Championship quality though, they haven't got enough goals in them to get out of this league, they sold Garner for £1.2m and released McGoldrick but spent £1.7m on two duds - seriously bad move selling Garner in the same summer they lost Waghorn.

It has been years of underinvesting which has led to this situation. The stories we hear about neglect of the stadium, training facilities and the staff situation show where the club is going.

I don't give a monkey's where they go as long as it's in a downward trajectory. As far as the ground, if you can call it that, is concerned, the sooner the council repossess and build public toilets on it the better. As for the fans, they can rot as well, they are far to pig ignorant to have a club to support anyway. They still don't understand they are in debt, nor how or why they have got to the situation they are in. They live in the past, and as far as I'm concerned have no place in the future.

Only thing for me is that there seem to be five other teams that are equally crap. We really need those other teams to pick up a few points to create a bit of a gap.
