Not sure if it was the foul or having a go at the ref after?
Hoolahan is a punt. Im not sure if Lafferty is technically a punt. But if he is, he is a massive punt...
Based on BJ's reactions following a challenge, I dont htink he thinks he's ever fouled anyone in his life! Are we sure he knows the rules? Would explain a lotJust a second yellow for bringing him down. His bad reaction probably didn't help, blew any chance there was of the ref showing leniency.
In the eyes of everyone except the board, who will probably cling to every little piece of hope until relegation starts to look more likely than promotion.Surely Adams' position is untenable now?
Agreed with everything apart from Warnock. Wouldn't want that berk anywhere near our club. All I want is a manager who uses conventional wide midfielders, isn't too proud to use a 4-4-2, is happy to grind out a scrappy 1-0 if the odds are stacked against you, and understands that you can't just adopt Kevin Keegan gung-ho style of football every week, gambling on whether you can come out with a 3-2 instead of a 2-3.
Complete lack of discipline in our squad. I think this season is the result of arrogance. We thought that we were better than we were. How else can you explain a club which ships out all of its wide midfielders (Surman, Bennett, Pilkington, Snodgrass) and thinks their players are so good that we can effectively play 4 strikers every week and assume that your full backs don't need any protection.
Fancy that hey? A former Norwich City wide midfielder who doesn't think that Norwich City needs to possess any wide midfielders. I sensed a bit of over-confidence in the summer actually, from both the club and the supporters. We were talking about automatic promotion before we'd even kicked a ball.
We made a big mistake this summer, and that mistake is simply our failure to appoint a manager who already knows how difficult it is to get out of this league, preferably one who had already done it (as a manager, not as a player). We had options. We could have had Warnock. We could have pinched Mick McCarthy (probably couldn't now).
We took a punt on a youth coach in one of the most important seasons in our modern history. We've wrecked our season in the process. I'd suggest the club show the required humility to acknowledge their mistake, appoint his successor, and give that successor six months to start building the team which has to take us up next season, before our parachute payments finish.
The best chance that we have of building a settled squad for next season is to give a new manager an extra transfer window (January). I'm writing this season off, but if any new manager could squeeze us into 6th place then that would be a bonus.
Injured. What the hell has happened to VOO?
Nah, Blackpool have got that title sewn up this season!we're becoming the laughing stock in this league
I know that people are impressed by our ability attract Phelan to the club as a coach, I am too, as a coach (or assistant) it is a major coup. The Mike Phelan thing shows the board have already decided to stick with Adams for the time being no matter what. It wasn't his own personal decision but would have been made in consultation with those higher up. Maybe they're grooming him as Adam's successor when we get to January and we've already blown our chance of promotion.
