I guess the standard of that league is probably SPL without Celtic? With Zagreb being about as good as Rangers but not quite as good as Celtic?

Just listened to the interview with our head of recruitment, none of the names mentioned in the press are remotely close....

I bet Semi Ajayi and Yoann Barbet were part of the 'championship list'.

Had we failed to win promotion then Klose would be gone for a start, and we'd probably have needed to sell a player or two (e.g. Godfrey).

The Joe Hart link was so bloody lazy, at least choose a keeper who is good with their feet if you want to make something up.... I swear I'd do a better job than these hacks.

I'd just make up that we were signing David Button for £3m. Good with his feet, played sexy football at Brentford, not getting a kick at Brighton and probably wants first team football.... wages probably about equal to what we're prepared to pay. At least be a bit more creative with your lies ffs.

Think Isaac Hayden would be a good addition, but no way we're touching him at £15m. I do think we'll need someone to come in in that position though to offer competition to Trybull. I love Tettey as everyone does but I'm not sure about him at Premier League level. He's undoubtedly still a good player and wouldn't be a bad option to have at all, just if Trybull was ruled out for say 3 months or went through a rough patch of form I'd want someone better than Tettey to take his place.

And yeah the Joe Hart links are lazy journalism at it's finest, but obviously because he's a name it's what will sell papers. I've said before but I would like us to go for Bettinelli at Fulham. Was brilliant for them in their promotion season and was in the England squad not too long ago, but is now their 2nd choice 'keeper and obviously they've been relegated.

On Heise as well, I imagine he's at least good enough to provide cover for Lewis, as he was signed in January with a view to the summer, at a point where we would've undoubtedly had one eye on promotion. That said obviously it's hard to tell for sure seeing as he hasn't got a single minute under his belt yet.

Also not sure if it's been said already, but Gary Hooper has been released by Sheffield Wednesday.

Know he's had his injury problems recently but you'd think most of the Championship would be interested in picking him up on a free. Scored 10 goals in 24 games last season. Tbf though it's pretty set up for him to go back to Celtic.

Hooper's injury record is shocking now. Can't help but feel he could have achieved much more in the game, must feel like the Norwich move was a terrible career decision.... Stuck in that Hughton squad and having Elmander above him in the pecking order!
