What Film Did You Just Finish Watching?

And The Force Awakens was bad too. Looks like I'm not much of a fan either ?

To be fair I love the concept and can see why the franchise is so internationally renowned, but I actually think most of the films range from average to poor :D That said I can see why the 3 originals are highly rated, as at the time they were released they would've been completely different and revolutionary compared to anything else that had ever come before them. Attack of the Clones was genuinely an awful film, the Phantom Menace I thought was a bit 'meh', and I really liked Revenge of the Sith. The Force Awakens though was just pretty crap, the entire plot had been stolen from the 3 original films.

I think as well if I had watched the film as a kid I would've loved them, but as an adult watching them they didn't quite hit me with the 'wow' factor that I thought they would. Still will be interesting to watch Rogue One, when it's released next month.

Huge fan (I own two light sabres)

I was there in 1977 when it all began, the film blew me away, there had literally been nothing like it before.

Empire strikes back is a better film, Return of the Jedi maybe not quite so good.

Phantom Menace, hugely disappointing, as fans we had waited for it so long, and Jar Jar Binks frankly ruined it. It remains the only of the films I have seen only once.

Attack of the Clones I thought was okay, loved Revenge of the Sith, mainly for the Darth Vader bits, and Annakin's descent into becoming him.

The force awakens is basically the first film rebooted, but I loved the nostalgia of seeing the old characters again, and it has brought the franchise to a whole new generation.

Rogue one, out in a few weeks looks pretty good.

May the force be with you.

Last night i watched "Indiana Jones- Raiders of the lost ark". Might be controversial to say, but I think it's a bit overrated. Iconic movie, by all means, but I don't think it stands the test of time like, for instance, "Breakfast Club", "E.T" and "Blade Runner".

It's a wonderful life. Never seen it, thought it was good , particularly for a film made in 1946

Watched Kong Skull island last night (hear me out lol) actually really quite good, had a real "Jurassic park" feel to it. Great cast too.

I thought Kong was very good indeed. Not least for Brie Larson. Delightful.

Yeah, couldn't be bothered with Trainspotting. Actually don't like Ewan McGregor too much.

Recently watched Logan. A comic book film without the comic book-ness. Top work.

Don't know why but I found the Great Wall quite entertaining, although you obviously don't have to think too hard.

Alien Covenant.

Pretty much what you'd expect of a film of the genre. Kinda gone back to more like the original.

So... any good?

I haven't heard anyone get very excited about it. Or even just averagely excited.

It was never a film I would have paid to see in the cinema, I got it by, ahem, other means. Its perfectly watchable, good action and suspense, but it does very heavily lend from previous films, the plot line is very familiar. But then again, it is what it is, there's really not much more they can do with it. The ending sets up a sequel, but its perhaps now time to call it a day.
